This is a great thread. So many recommendations for food, definitely not enough time! Anyways, I am headed there for the April 7th game vs. my Celtics. Should be a great matchup. Where is the best place to get tickets? I have been looking online, but upper deck seats are around $100 each. I need 3. Any recommendations?

I'd say online is your best bet. I would possibly try Craigslist. From what I've seen tickets for that particular game have skyrocketed in price. :-?

Any season ticket holders looking to sell 3 or 4 tickets to Celtics @ Bulls on April 7th for a reasonable price? Please PM me.
Thanks,

LOL. I say the same thing towards end of December into January.

"I need to move. Weather SUCKS. I need to move."

Then when March-April comes around...

"Eh. Weather isn't that all bad. I'll stay."

Repeat cycle.

But seriously- there's no other place I want to be (in the summer) then Chicago.

Heh. Actually.....I finally made the move to FL last August and haven't looked back. Had a hell of a time selling the house in an awful market that just wouldn't let up. It's a trade-off though and not for everyone. I lived in FL until college called (DePaul) and I moved to IL saying I wanted 4 seasons, the big city, and to be close to my Bears and Bulls. 22 years later and having a family, I wanted out big time.

My kids can now enjoy their favorite sports - baseball, tennis, and swimming virtually year round and I can hit the beach from March thru October and spring training in March/April. Do I miss the eats in Chicago? Hellz yes. I'll do an annual visit and get my fix, though. Summer in Chicago-land is beautiful, no doubt. It's that nasty late October thru early May I can do without.

New MJ restaurant if interested

http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=8031613

A Chicago Bulls basketball legend is planning to open a new restaurant.

Chicago-based Strategic Hotels and Resorts said Michael Jordan's Steak House will open at the InterContinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue. Construction will start sometime in the summer.

Jordan's previous Chicago restaurant in River North closed about 12 years ago.

The new restaurant is only the third Michael Jordan Steakhouse location in the country. The others are in the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut and in New York City's Grand Central Terminal.

Plans call for construction of the restaurant, which will have a street-level bar and second-floor dining room, to begin in June, replacing the eatery currently in the space.

"It really didn't provide what that hotel needed, which is a very special occasion restaurant," Richard Moreau, an executive vice president of Strategic Hotels told the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday.

While the new restaurant will bear Jordan's name, InterContinental will manage it. The Michael Jordan name is being licensed from Chicago-based Jump Higher LLC., which is managed by The Cornerstone Restaurant Group, which has a relationship with Jordan dating back to the original Michael Jordan's Restaurant.

"I think the Michael Jordan brand has to be in a very sort of landmark location," said Cornerstone's CEO David Zadikoff.

I'm a big fan of "joints" (not that  ). Those basic small burgers and fries shacks that have the wife and kids on the grill who may or may not (probably not) speak english. Some indeterminate old country language is used and you may not get exactly what you ordered. But whatever you get is damn good. Unknown sanitary standards too. Food overcomes all your worries.

Good one near where I grew up was Jacky's on 54th south Pulaski right next to Burger King. Awesome Gyros and shakes. I think I used to get 2 hotdogs and fries for like 2 bucks.

Don't knock it til you've tried it. Great Seas wings are fantastic. Never even bothered to try the other stuff, there's better places for other Chinese dishes from what I've heard from people that have tried em there. The same family owns Take Me Out, which serves the same wings (and only a few other things) and won Best Exotic Wing at the Chicago Wingfest in 2010.
