Re: Bears 2024 2.0
with the new cap figure, I think my ideal group of free agent signings would be
Madubukie, DT
Floyd, DE
Chusenberry, C
Bourne, WR
Townsend, P
That would leave a starting safety and OL depth as our biggest issues, which would be addressed in the draft

Bourne is meh. Don't know that Townsend is all that great. He really hasn't had to punt much. I would've rather had Araiza. Chusenberry would be great. No on Floyd unless you are adding him to a 3 man rotation with Sweat and a high rookie pick.

Bourne would be WR3 so he'd improve in his minimized role, along with a better offense and teammates around him. Floyd would be a rotation guy who got 11 sacks last season with our new DC as his coach in buffalo. Townsend is very good

His logic makes sense (especially because that's seemingly what happened last season) but this is just another opinion. Im really tired of these insiders giving their opinions and passing it off as news (not that Florio is doing that, just in general).

That’s a brutal division for him to go to in all honesty. 2 of the best 5 QBs in the league live there and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. All it would do is highlight the fact that he’s not them.
Hard to find a division where JF would be the 2nd best QB.
Only the NFC south....maybe.

Re: Bears 2024 2.0
When playing in a prove it year, it’s got to be tempting to stay in the same offense if the option is on the table for Fields, and the Bears were amenable to steering him where he wanted to go, all things being more or less equal. Concerning Getsy, think Justin would have some leverage too to get some preferential game planning if that was needed. Just saying. I am not 100% in agreement that there was a major issue there in Chicago determinative to his bottom line? But he could be able to be sort of advantaged in Vegas if the Raiders invested a high pick in him. As he would be anywhere he went.

Yep. Totally agree.
I want Latu.
Who would you sign at WR in FA? Keep Mooney, bring in Evans or Boyd?
Evans or Boyd over Mooney and I like Mooney. Think Fields was his biggest problem but he also got in his own head last year.

I get that. But even if you factor in Fields getting better (which I strongly believe he will) I don’t see him ascending to the level of either Mahomes or Herbert. He will be the forgotten guy even if he rises.

Depends on what the Bears do with #9. If they get a top 3 receiver in the first round, a cheaper veteran is all they will likely invest in to round it out. Mooney might actually be perfect in that case. Although the Bears do need to add 2 bigger-sized receivers this year

JF was strategic in the podcast naming ATL and PIT. Obviously there maybe more suitors but I take it, personally, that those are atop his list.

I’m still team keep fields. But I’ve come to accept that he’s probably done in Chicago.
But it would be such a wild move if they traded the first pick. Like what a turn of events

Is Fields vs Pickett an actual debate? Fields has produced more, has objectively better physical tools and is younger than Pickett. I get Steelers fans/stakeholders arguing for their guy. But outside of that, I don't really see how it's actually even a thing?

We are not gonna pay for 30 yr old Evans and 29 yr old Boyd and with Mooneys effort level last season they are gonna move on from him
