Plantar Fascitis is one of those injuries with a high rate of recurrence. It definitely increases the risk that he won't really be playing well or be fully healthy all year, and given he will definitely still be out at the deadline for at least a couple weeks with no real vision on when he'll come back, the added risk the team takes on probably lowers his value in that role.

A bit "in the eye of the beholder", maybe a team would ignore that risk or feel good enough about his progress or specific medicals would counteract the risk and make it less than I am saying it is. I'm not really sure, but I'd guess that you might have found someone willing to overpay for a healthy Craig that needed a small cap contract of someone who could be a full rotation 3&D wing player. That has to be a near zero fill niche.

Would shock me if you could have gotten a 20+ 1st for him just for at team that wanted the player of that type without massively increasing the luxury tax bill, the fact he could fit into TPEs probably made it even easier to contract (or that lots of Vet min guys would have the exact same salary number).

Well AKME waited this long without signing some PF that stood 6-8+ to have on the roster and now they are in desperation mode. Go back to the end of the 1st half against PHIL when Patrick rolled his ankle, if that had been worse then there's Demar your starting PF for a couple of months. There's a price to pay for keeping too many guards on the roster at the expense of bigs.

Don't act simplistic and think Phillips or the new man of the hour Drell is going to be the answer, on both ends the Bulls will end up 4 that know what they're doing plus one student versus 5 on the other team.

They need to either sign someone off the scrap heap and hope they get somebody who can step in or it's time to pull the trigger on a substantive trade.

So we're basically without Craig until March 2024, maybe we can get P.J. Tucker from the Clippers since he is out of their rotation for the foreseeable future. Wonder what type of exchange would need to happen to get him. He can still defend, shoot corner spot up threes. We don't need anything else from him.

I think the Bulls will get his replacement in the Zach trade

That could be a month from now since it seems like the destination is the Lakers. We have 14 games from now until 15 January, we need to make a move now rather than later to address our lack of depth in the front court.

I'd LOVE to see Drell get some burn, but I read he's out for a bit with an injury (sprained thumb?).

Where's Phillips? He's done admirably in stints.

My prediction is they'll just run with the young forwards for now

G League. Personally I'd rather keep throwing Dalen and Phillips out there to see what they're capable of.

Dalen is so painful to watch on offense, but sure, Phillips or Bitcoin, but neither seems to be happening.

He's never been given a real opportunity and we have to find out what we have in him eventually. Now is as good of a time as any with Craig down.

I actually think he's played pretty well on both ends of the court, relative to our extremely low expectations. He still can't shoot, but everything else has been mostly fine as of late.

I agree GB. As a devout hater of the Terry pick, honestly he’s looked okay as a minor role player since Craig went down. It’s good to see.
