Not sure he's ever taken a shot outside of 3 feet from the basket. So you are really banking on your teams ability to develop him.

Sounds like AK’s guy.

On a positive note he’s above 6’7 and moves good!

Want nothing to do with Flip.

Shooting most important.

Bigs second. Front court.

Want nothing to do with the guy who provides both?

He is similar to Lauri Markkanen.

Lauri has more wiggle and less strength

Nope. He’s stiff and slow.

ESPN currently has him as the 16th best prospect. Tankaton at #14. NBADraft.net at #23. CBS at #15. The Ringer at #23. He should be around.

It will be interesting to see what the NBA chooses to do with Dink Pate. He reclassified up and signed a two year deal with G League Ignite. Unfortunately for Pate, the Ignite went belly up and left a likely 2025 lottery pick in 2024 limbo. Let's see if the league gives him a pass and let him into the 2024 draft class.

6'8" PG just 18 years old. Big upside. But wasn't ready for the G League and probably not ready for the NBA. He is 100% projection so better have a good development plan in place.

Missi looks like he could potentially play the Capela role well as a rim-runner / lob threat.

Flip is the slow C version of Lauri when the Bulls had him add weight. I see him as a solid 3rd big.

I think the most value is an older player like DaSilva or Shannon. I think there will be a lot of long term players from this draft that don’t produce until their 2nd contract.

I'm definitely more interested in the upperclassman of this class as I'm reading into more prospects. They need to hit on a rookie deal. Knecht, TDS, McCullar. Also, there are some 2nd round wing shooters that should be taken advantage of Imo, 2nd rounders could be cheaper from teams that have multiple picks. Hunter Sallis, Antonio Reeves, Cam Spencer, Harrison Ingram(if he enters), Payton Sandfort(if he enters).

I’m with you on the older players. I think people forget that for decades only graduating seniors went into the draft. Plenty of allstars in those days.

Yep. I like Reeves.

I like the idea of replacing DDR with a bucket getter that can shoot. Knect, Shannon, etc.

Would it be worth approaching Portland about acquiring their GSW FRP (currently 14th) for their FRP back? Probably unlikely, but would be a good way to get some cheap talent on the team.

Just a thought.

I don’t know the specific protections off the top of my head, but it’s my general impression that we’ve concluded that it’s very unlikely pick will convey as a first rounder. Hard to imagine them wanting to trade a definite first round pick to secure a pick that is likely to be a second rounder.

I guess it depends on how aggressive they plan to be with rebuilding as quickly as possible.

The protections run all the way to 2028, so while Portland will probably be bad for the foreseeable future, it seems still fairly possible they aren't in the lottery at some point during that window. Since the protections also prevent Portland from trading any of their firsts, it's probably worth something to them to get out of the deal if they can.
