It's early, but Edey currently would set the following records:

1. Highest PER ever in a single season (slightly edging out Zion), Edey last season is currently #2 ever (goes back to 2002)
2. Highest WS/48 ever (by a huge distance, but that gap will probably close) (Only goes back to 2009)
3. Second highest BPM ever (right behind Zion) (Only goes back to 2009)

If it quacks like a duck...

I actually saw Edey in person at the Northwestern game. I got the impression of a solid backup center to possible starter if you have lots of switchable teammates around him like the Raptors. He's very Vuc like to worse in the pick and roll defense, solid post game, not great at passing out of double teams, you can either get him to turn it over or make bad decisions.

Sets good picks, solid shot blocker, great rebounder

Quick! Draft him no. 1!!!

Edey will be lucky to be drafted in the 2nd round, he puts up these stats because there's no one big enough to stop him. Yeah, he's talented but he's also the biggest guy out there, he'll probably get a 2-way and put up decent stats in the G-League.

There's no one big enough to stop him in the NBA either. He's significantly bigger than Yao Ming.

There's plenty big enough and more athletic players to stop him in the NBA.

Yao was 7'5" and 300+Ibs (some places list him as 7'6")

Edey is 7'4" and 284-300Ibs (depending on where you look).

So that is factually wrong.

Yao had a 7'4" wingspan.

Edey has a 7'10" wingspan.

So pretty similar height/size but Edey with a huge wingspan edge.

And no there isn't anyone big enough. He's going to hurt dudes.

So you're saying the likes of Embiid, Jokic, Giannis to name a few are going to be dominated by Zach Edey?

So what happened to Tacko Fall? He's 7'7" with an 8'2" wingspan, 10'2" standing reach and 289Ibs? He's bigger than Edey, why isn't he 'hurting dudes'.

The only players he's going to be hurting are some guys in Europe or the G-League.

Edey should stay in school and collect as much NIL money as possible.

Matas would be so fun to watch with Coby. So much skill.

Frank Wagner 2.0.

He’s slower and a worse playmaker than Franz

Hopefully all this Edey talk is the idea of buying the 60th pick in the draft and selecting him there.

This is what i'm saying its no different then when Frank Kaminsky dominated the Big 10 at Wisconsin and where is he now? Or hell Kofi Cockburn who dominated all of College Basketball and he isn't even in the G-League. 4 year centers are lucky to ever play an NBA game, Edey at best will be a 2nd rounder that will be a back-up and spot-starter.

DJ Wagner has struggled a lot this season but I think he's worth taking a shot at with a mid-late FRP.
