Though he might have increased defensively in a way not measurable by usual stats.
Regarding free agency I fear that he already is what he is and won't live up to any phantasy potential some of us are dreaming of.

Just let us play a game: In case Patrick Williams and Tony Craig would be on the waivers list and you would be a gm of a good playoff team with aging stars, and a rebuild in the summer upfront and without any cap space, whom would you sign until summer Patrick Williams or Tony Craig (just as a decision of someone living in "NOW time")?

Honestly, I'd probably go with Pat, being aware it's a gamble. There's more ceiling for him to show up with a hot shooting stretch.

On the whole, Pat is better, but there's just that issue of Pat's floor being zero, whereas Craig gives you a steady floor. Nevertheless, Craig isn't that much of a game-changer. Both are roughly equal in overall impact; Craig with the veteran edge, Pat with the shooting skill (in theory).

I can kind of ignore the mediocre stats but with 2 season ending injuries I think I might think twice about paying this guy anything above the MLE.

What other teams can say they have 3 rotation players shelved due to season ending surgeries? Only the Bulls!

Does anyone know more about this type of injury? Is it something that will be fixed with surgery and heal or is it something that is reoccurring?

Also, what do you think this means for his upcoming contract extension? Any predictions on that?

There’s never any positive news about this awful franchise
I'm not here to argue.

Last year the Bulls had good health overall:

82 games for PW
82 games for Vucevic
74 games for DDR
77 games for Zach LaVine
74 games for Coby White

I remember Doug made a post saying that there's a good chance that the team won't be able to continue to stay healthy. Although I'm sure he couldn't predict PW's current injury.

Some of it's the front office and the direction they've moved in with this team.

I'm sure they'll point to injuries as a reason why the team finished 9th or 10th (2nd year in a row).

I don’t see how they can even this that when the team struggled out the gate when everyone else as healthy except ball they need to get a new front office and a coach who can help players grow I say go get Kenny Atkinson

Did we call this or what? Quite unfortunate for PW, wishing him a full recovery post surgery and rehab.
This organization is cursed, we need professional help.

I wouldn't be surprised if they also point out the winning streak (after Zach was out).

It happens every year with AK. He points to a few positive moments in the season and says something to the effect "if we can continue doing that we'll be a good team". The reality is that most teams have their ups and downs during a season. If you cherry pick moments that doesn't paint the full picture.

I'll be optimistic that this helps us land him on a more reasonable deal.

The front office doesn't seem to think much about the future and want to continue pushing for the play-in.

With that in mind a PF with size would've helped. The problem is they've put themselves in a situation where they have limited options (unless they move in a new direction, which is what I think they should do).

I am honestly starting to feel that way, even after enduring the 98-99 rebuild years. At least JK had a vision of what he wanted to do, this management has no IDEA what they want besides competing for a play-in berth appearance apparently.
