Windy City Bulls thread
I couldn't find anything that was WCB related other than the Julian Phillips thread, so I hope this is OK.
I've been keeping up with the WCBs, just keeping an eye on a few of the young guys like Phillips, Terry, Sanogo, Quenton Jackson, Drell etc
So WCB got a win today and Dalen Terry had yet another good game.
25pts, 4rbs, 7asts, 9-15fg, 4-7 3pt, 2stls, 1blk but 4 TOs
Phillips had a round game stat wise.
8pts, 5rbs, 2-11fg, 0-3 3pt and 1blk
Sanogo continues to be consistently good for WCB.
20pts, 15rbs, 2blks and 2stls.
I know, I know, it's just the G-League and that 'everyone' can score 20pts in the G-League but I think it's good that they're putting up some good numbers.

All those guys are intriguing to me to various degrees except for Sanogo. He has the same issue that Simonovic had, being an unathletic under-the-rim bigman who can make easy standing layups against non-NBA caliber bigs but won't be able to do so at the NBA level.
Drell is particularly interesting to me as a lengthy 3&D guy, if he can ever develop a consistent 3-point shot.

Bitim with his best game with WCB also.
22pts, 5asts, 7-10 fg, 6-7 from 3.
Phillips destroying the G-league whenever he plays though.

Watching Phillips ball handling seems to be his issue offensively.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Re: Windy City Bulls thread
Decided to check in on how Julian Phillips has been doing down in the G-league.
In 7 games he's averaging 18 points on 44/46/74 shooting splits. The 46% 3P% comes on 5 attempts per game. Also averaging 8 rebounds with 2 STOCKS per game.
63% TS%
Pretty impressive for a guy who shot 24% from 3 in college.
Here's some highlights from a recent game. Does a good job getting his 3-point shots off quick. Attacks the offensive glass and makes good cuts. Finishing well at the rim.

Re: Windy City Bulls thread
That lefty dunk was nasty.
Philips can’t do anything off the bounce.
He can shoot and crash the glass for dunks though. He is DJJ with a better 3. Needs to add some muscle and a simple dribble to attack close outs.

Other notables:
Adama Sanogo: 20pts, 15rbs (he's been consistently good)
Quinton Jackson: 25pts, 6rbs, 8asts

I like Bitim, but he is going to need to be a reliable and consistent shooter to make it in this league, he is a little too slow.
Why so serious?

Drell has always intrigued me since we first brought him aboard a few summer leagues ago. He's got good size and IDK what his wingspan or vert is but he looks lanky as hell and seems decently athletic. He can handle the ball a bit too.
It seems like he could conceivably play the 2, the 3, and the 4. He'll likely have a similar role as PWill, Dalen, and Phillips if he ever gets minutes for us. I'm not sure if he's a good defender, but on paper he projects to be a 3&D guy with size and length if he can ever develop a reliable 3-point shot.
So there's a lot to like physically and projection-wise, but his stats in the G League have always been lackluster, especially his efficiency, so it's nice to see him pop off with a big scoring game with efficiency. Maybe he's turning a corner with his offense/shooting.
This is a guy I've been checking in on for the past few years and I've been unreasonably excited/high on him. He'll probably never amount to anything, but who knows, there's always that small chance.

Re: Windy City Bulls thread
I'd give Drell a shot. Still not the biggest fan, but we all know how much this team could use a 6-9 guy who can shoot. Would also be a nice little success story for the Bulls. Pretty rare to see a guy play for the same G-League team for 3 seasons before making it to the NBA. Bitim should probably get a chance as well.
BTW, Adama Sanogo is averaging 6.4 offensive rebounds per game (6.1 DRPG). That's pretty crazy. He doesn't take 3s, though, which is very disappointing.

How has Drell's defense looked this year? IIRC, he was decent in the preseason.

It irks me, I feel like he's at least worth trying a couple games to see how he gels with the team... granted he did start slow

How has Sanogo looked? I wish I'd get the chance to see him for the Bulls like in garbage time.

I haven't watched any of the games, but he's been incredibly consistent this year statistically.
In 29 games he's averaging 20ppg, 11rpg, 1blk, 1stl, 61fg% and 75ft%
He's easily been WCBs most consistent player, he should definitely get a bit of NBA burn to see how he fairs.
