PG: Towering Twin Win

Post#1 » by sco » Fri Feb 9, 2024 3:28 am

Nice one! Felt like a trap game with a road game against a depleted squad. Billy looking to strike gold again with the twin towers line-up and it was another success. Four Bulls with 20+ and the twin towers both had 20/10 games!

Demar was cool calm and collected.

Coby heated up in the second half again.

Vuc did his bumslaying thing.

Drummond did a great job on both ends going 10-11 on FG's and out physicaling JJJ.

W. Next.

Also, Scottie Jr would be nice on this team to push Coby in practice. Dude is a pest.

Also, how many falls can Coby take? That was a lot.

It was a trashy win. But a win nevertheless.

We need to do better. Even though we have won and made comebacks, we havent played a great game from start to finish in a long time.

Silly Grizzlies. You can’t beat continuity! Come on now. The league is in BIG trouble!

GG Jackson is going to be a monumental steal.

I gotta say I love Gill and Perdue. They're the new Red and Norm. I hope they stay in the post game show forever.

It's crazy to me that Drummond consistently outperforms Vuc in less minutes, yet it took Billy 16 months to let him out the dog-house.

Anyway, at this point, you need to treat Vuc as an offensive option and nothing else. He doesn't do any actual other "center" things: win tip-offs, secure rebounds in traffic, bruise the paint, and he obviously doesn't stop big men from scoring in post-ups or around the rim. Drummond addresses all those problems.

I'll take the win but you hope that they would have more effort since nobody was traded and AKME has great confidence in this group for whatever reasons. Big games against the Magic, Hawks, and Cavs next.

Is this the closest we've been to .500 this season?

Coby, Drummond, Caruso is probably the best $23M spent in basketball.
(excluding fixed rookie scale contracts).

They played terrible and once again looked down at an opponent but at least they won in the end. Billy though needs to do better in these games, has to motivate his team to play hard from tip off. It’s on him that they were lackadaisical. Also why not use guys like Bitim, Taylor, or Drell ? . This was the perfect game to use these guys to match Memphis effort.

Demar was schooling these young guys all game long 30 pts glad he’s still here and glad Drummond ended up staying another big game from him 21 pts and 13 rebounds and once again successful playing alongside Vuc. Coby and Vuc too got the job done tonight 20 pts each.

Record is now 25-27 close to getting back to .500. 3 games behind Miami and Orlando, so the next game against Orlando is a must win. Get revenge for losing to them twice earlier in the season as well.

Drummond is probably our third or forth best player.

Vooch put together 2 games in a row where he shot at least 40% from 3. If he's gonna be playing PF and paired up with Drummond more regularly now, can we at least park him in the corner?

That's not much to celebrate about these days, but I can appreciate 20-8-6 game from Coby to help his case for MIP, and another dominant Twin Tower showing.

Let's get back to .500 first. There's no excuse now, FO wants to win now, we fans should start expecting them to play up.

Had it on in the background so not much insights to give. But these kinda games you have to have if we're gunning for that almighty 6th seed that AK has his sights on. The rise of Coby continues.
