Since we hit 100 on the last thread, figured this would be a good topic to start the new one.

The top 3 QBs should all be advised not to throw.. McCarthy Penix and Nix are the ones who have the most to gain.

Grats to Peter King on the retirement, but this is worded very confusingly.

That would be quite the disaster, trading down twice to Atlanta.

Wonder if they know the meeting with Caleb isn’t going to go well.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?

This is interesting. And I doubt Peter King says this without some type of inside knowledge. Though it could be the Bears putting out fake feelers to raise the trade value.

However, it is hilarious that he goes into retirement and sets the bridge on fire behind him on the way out

I’m sure it means nothing but if the national conversation continues to be the Bears are looking to trade down and build the team up, especially this week, there may be fire to all the smoke.

But it’s super early. Though there does seem to be a shift from the guarantee that it felt it was a few weeks ago.

If this is leaked information Poles is managing this beautifully. In the end, I think this is all about boosting JF trade value. Let other teams know that keeping Fields is on the table and they might bump up their offers. Well played.

Or.... this is NFL Combine week and so there'll be plenty of rumors and speculation. You won't get much press or hits if you spout what over 80% of the country expects will happen. If it ain't different, it's not news.

WTF is that supposed to mean?

But it’s Peter King. He’s super credible and would never put that credibility on the line if he had heard nothing right?

This is a very real possibility. The absolute best thing that Poles can do right now is drop signals that enhance the value of both the pick and Fields so as to keep his options as broad as possible for as long as possible. And there is a strategy that goes along with doing that. This could very well be part of that strategy.

if peter king was legitimately breaking news about what the bears are doing with the first overall pick, it would not be bullet point number two on item number nine on his "ten things i think i think" feature, buried more than 10,000 words into his column

when you mention “national conversation”, so far it’s 2 guys. One was just speculating based on the Breer report that there would be a quarterback direction chosen this week. The other, I have no idea what “winds” he is talking about. There’s been no Fields winds.

That’s true. It’s Biggs wind V King wind. But the Biggs wind was definitely blowing that we could see.
