I think Ralph Friedgen at Maryland was fatter a few years ago...not sure if he's lost weight

And Charlie Weis was really fat...he had that stomach surgery in order to help him lose weight

KU self-destructed on a drive that saw them with 1st and goal at the 2. They fumbled, but recovered the ball, only to get called for a personal foul and then a holding. Then Reesing throws an INT so they get NO points out of that drive

EDIT: But it's still 17-14, and now they just intercepted Va Tech and brought the ball back inside the Va Tech 5! Frist and goal from the 2...TD Jayhawks!!!

Man...KU goes for it on 4th and 2 instead of kicking a FG. They turn the ball voer on downs when Reesing floats a pass instead of throwing it, then the Jayhawks let Va Tech drive right down the field for a TD

24-21 Kansas with 3:00 to go. Onside kick, recovered by KU. But they have to score here or Va Tech will get the ball back with plenty of time to get a FG or TD

Whoo-Hooo!!!! Rock Chalk Jayhawks!!!!

Final score: KU 24 Va Tech 21

KU could have scored again right at end of the game, but instead kneeled down on the Va Tech 2-yard line to run out the clock

I said it before and I'll say it again, hats off to you and the Jayhawks, girlygirl. You endured a lot of slings and arrows b/c of the easy schedule but the team proved that it belonged with the big boys. Yet another reason to wish for a playoff system.

And listening to that coach talk only made me like him more. He coulda fit right in with the Chicago Superfans.

Thanks again, Ben B.! I'm hoping for some respect from the national media...but somehow I don't think they'll get a lot.

But I'm happy...a great finish to a fantastic wonderfully surprising season. And Mark Mangino is cool...very unassuming and funny. He seems determined to stay at KU for swhile, too. The Jayhawks have most of the team coming back next season, so maybe we can put together back-to-back bowl seasons for once!
