WAY FUN: THE BULLS BOARD FANTASY DRAFT

Post#1 » by GRADEN » Fri Jan 4, 2008 8:03 pm

Let's put the misery aside for a few days and discuss the best players and how they would be picked if the league was set to a fantasy draft.

With the number 1 pick...

I would like to see what everyone thinks. Give it a day or 2 and then we'll move on.

My selection would be 1. LEBRON JAMES

With the number 2 pick...

My selection would be 2. Dwight Howard

Let's start here and then move forward. This is not easy. Think of age, position, marketing, etc...

Guys like Kobe... Older than a Wade. Who would you take?
Guys like Melo... Most talented in the league perhaps but does he have an attitude?
Injury prone stars...
Rookies...

There is a TON to consider. I think my first two picks are no brainers though.

Let's go 1-50 I think. Everyone can list their 50 or we can go and see what the most common picks are slowly...

I'm curious. Is a point guard more important then a better scorer?

Would you take Deron Williams over Carmelo like I would?

If I had to start a team right now that would win for a decade my lineup would be:

PG Deron Williams
G Andre Iguodala
F LeBron James
F Chris Bosh
C Dwight Howard

That would be my 5. I think they would mesh the best

As much as I like Deron Williams I would swap Chris Paul in for him.

SW - I'm shocked no one wants to have fun with this.

No way I take Paul over Dwill btw. Deron has evolved into the elite point guard in the entire league in my eyes. Also note how highly I think of CP3 though.

I am too lazy to think of top 50 players, but I will list my starting lineup.

Chris Paul
Kobe Bryant (yes! kobe)
Lebron James
Dirk Nowitzki
Dwight Howard

I would draft DH first, and LBJ second. Even though LBJ looks better now, I believe we still havent seen reach Dwight reach his potential.

The reason I picked kobe is because even with his age, he has still got a good five years in him. He is the best clutch shooter in the game right now. Dirk helps by spreading out the floor and creating room for dwight.

As for CP3 vs deron, they are similar in terms of star caliber; however, I think CP3 is faster, and speed is essential over strength to a PG.

Al Jefferson
Melo
Deron Williams

Biedrins
Aldridge
Rudy Gay
Marvin Williams
Deng
Granger
Ben gordon
R. Brewer

Basically to get on my list you have to be pretty young under 25 really and be pretty good

Wow!

So if you were GM and they had a league wide fantasy draft you would draft Biedrins 10th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you are not my GM lol.

Marvin Williams????

Wade has a ring and is a superstar marketing wise.... and young.

Not sure I understand the reasonings

Well Really I approached it like a list of players I would want to target if I were doing a fantasy team that and I was up because I couldnt sleep I think I will edit the list. I didnt list wade because frankly I have concerns about his injuries.

per 48 biedrins is putting up 18.4 pts 16.5 rbs 2.1 ast 1.2 stl 2.3 blocks and he is shooting almost 66 percent from the field. and he has been trending upwards since his rookie season

Why dont we just make this an actual fantasy draft. Assume you are running your team, whatever team it is (doesnt really matter). Consider age and ability and chemistry of your team. Try to make your team as good as possible now and for the future.

Graden picked first and took lebron (no explanation needed)
Second pick was howard (again no explanation needed really)

As the third pick i would take chris paul

He is young, can score and distribute as well as anyone. I think in starting a team its most important to have a great playmaking pg and a post player. Hoping to pick up someone like aldridge in the second round as my post guy.
