I say let Salmon start, and have BG off the bench. It shouldn't matter whether we p*ss him off now anyhow, since he has 3/4 of his foot out the door anyhow. Plus, he has experience coming off the bench, and Salmons will likely be here for another 2 years or so it seems.
Why so serious?

Many teams were interested in acquiring Salmons this week. Absolutely nobody was interested in a S & T for Gordon over the summer for the $10M a year he wanted. Hmmm.... interesting.

This is a pretty bad post.

If we don't move Hinrich, I'd start Salmons after 10 games or so (so he knows the schemes...at least a bit). If Hinrich is here, then Gordon isn't, and Salmons really plays better as a starter.

That's his guess as to what the "height uber alles!"-obsessed crowd might see as a dream starting lineup.

BG? Really? No way, Salmons should be starting once he settles in, BG is good as gone.

Start Salmons at the SF. We get 2 3-Point shooting Wings when Rose penetrates which is always great.

I agree, Salmons is the perfect 6th man in theory since he can handle the 1-3 spots when needed. His ball-handling abilities make him a nice fit next to BG, and his scoring compliments Rose and Deng.

That being said, if we've closed the door ourselves already by making financial moves that prevent us from keeping him, then we might as well move on.

That depends if we're in a playoff race. If we are, I'll rather have Gordon out there starting games and playing the large majority of the SG minutes.

Oh, and my previous remarks of 'It's Gordon or a new SG' - They are still true, but John Salmons isn't that guy.

I think Salmons could be that guy, but more importantly, our front-office may view him as that guy since they've currently shut the door on resigning him.

We'll know by tomorrow if we're keeping BG, IMO.

Bulls fans need to find out just how bad this trade was. Sit Gordon in the stands, start Salmons and watch the wonderful results.

Salmons isn't a good catch & shoot player, therefore, he is not a good fit next to Rose.

But hey, he's 6'6.

I posted in the other thread. Here you go:

I think you guys should take the time a watch several clips of the Kings. To have some familiarity of Salmons/Miller. You should watch games of 1ogame2. He posts alot of great Kings summary clips. Here are some:

Kings VS Warriors:

Lakers VS Kings (at staples):

Kings VS Lakers(at Arco. Kings win. There is a small highlight at the end showing Salmons contesting shots of Bryant):

Offensively, Salmons is not a player who can play off the ball. Like, at all. That presents a major problem in a potential Rose pairing. Having him play 25 or so MPG and getting the green light could prove much more succesful down the line.

Yeah? How come Gordon isn't locked up long-term with us? He seems to have alot of fans around here, but why isn't management one of them? People are talking about his superior defense and offense, yet management went out of their way to trade their most valuable asset (Gooden expiring) to acquire a 6-7 SG who plays Gordon's position. Why? Because he obviously lacks something.

Gordon still plays like this is his team. He had his chance and we were a very mediocre team relying on his streaky play.

Neither is Gordon. Gordon is great shooting after dribbling 10 times and fading away.

I hate the notion that Salmons should start because he's bigger..have u seen him play? He's a decent baller but he thrives in Isolation plays, he's not primarily a spot up guy even though he's ok at it...he's more ball dominant than Kirk and that makes him a bad fit next to Rose. Bring him off the bench, where he can handle the ball more and the offense could run thru him

He excels more with the ball in his hands, that's true, but I'm fine with people other than Rose getting the ball. You can't really give the ball to Deng, Hinrich, Thomas (well sometimes), Noah, Miller, etc. and tell them to score. So in that regard, we'll need someone to take turns controlling the offense.

Gordon hasn't been playing off of Rose all that much either.

I pray to god that Hinrich/Hughes are traded for expirings tomorrow.
