Bulls want to trade up for Henderson or Johnson

Post#1 » by TyrusRose2425 » Tue Jun 23, 2009 5:54 pm

I've been told me the Bulls are looking to trade up in the draft for Gerald Henderson or James Johnson.

Thanks for the info!

Any news on trades?

I've been more and more intrigued by Johnson. I would be okay with either pick but if selecting one of the two, I'm going with James Johnson if he can play the PF majority of the time. I hope he can being 257 lbs.

Thanks for the info man

I'm not high on Henerson, dude is an athlete who doesnt really do anything well. if we're going the big guard route, why not get Terrence Williams who is a slightly worse shooter but superior rebounder, playmaker and defender.

I think Henderson is garbage but pretend the Bulls want him...

How about:
Bobby Simmons (2010 cap space)
Josh Boone or Sean Williams (your choice)
Nets pick

for
#16
heinrich

what do you think?

It gives the Nets:
Heinrich
harris
vince
Hansborugh
Lopez

Bulls:
Rose
Henderson/Gordon
Deng
Thomas
Miller

and a ton of capspace in 2010...
they can get Wade and Bosh
or who knows maybe Lebron decides to come to chicago?

Do we really need to trade up for either of these guys?

Each player we are considering in our draft range has serious flaws. I'm not entirely high on any player, but in a nutshell here's what I see:

Mullens:
+ Potential, Size, Hands
- Lack of motivation, work ethic, why the dismal year at OSU?

Blair:
+ Rebounding, Toughness, Hustle, Coachiblity
- Lack of athleticism, knees, no offense

Johnson:
+ Offensive polish, drives to the rack, point forward-ish
- Tweener-esque, sees himself as a SF

Henderson:
+ Defense, athletic ability, drives to the rack
- Outside shot is bad

Henderson IMO will be another Thabo but if he developed his J he could be a Maggette. Johnson if he can play PF and succeed there, I'd take him. But who knows. And he sees himself as a SF.

Pretty good question right there. We may be making a mistake if we do, it's near impossible to tell how picks 3-15 go.

I agree unless theres more moves to follow neither of these guys are going to get much playing time next year

But this time he did it 5-10 lbs lighter, so in theory, it was quicker.

Depends if they make any other moves. With the roster as is I think Henderson's defense would be little bit more valuable than Johnson's size in post

If we move up for one of these two players it absoultley needs to be Johnson. Henderson isn't even the best wing that will be avaliable in the 10-20 range, that belongs to Williams, who does everything better than Henderson, other than shooting the ball, which Henderson isn't much better at anyways. If the Bulls can move up and get Johnson I'm cool with that, even if it means getting rid of the 26th. But if we get rid of the 26th, and pass up on Johnson, Williams, Clark, Blair, Hansbrough, for Henderson...well it will just be a major dissapointment and a terrible move.

Nope I got no details. I'm guessing the details go into a rumorpress update.

Take away the mocks draft and just look at the rumors and everything that's out there is Phx and Detroit like Johnson. The Bulls like Johnson and know from all the NBA people they talk to that Johnson won't be there

Henderson probably won't fall to 16 either

If you like players and feel there's a good chance u take the chance and trade up

Putting everything together it makes sense why KC said Mullens and Blair were here today and wasn't sure on Johnson

Mullens and Blair were here because they will be considered at 16 if we can't trade up to land Johnson or Henderson

I dont get the hate for Henderson. He is incredibly athletic, has good size, good basketball IQ, he has lateral quickness. He needs to improve his range and ballhandling. These are things he CAN improve. In such a weak draft he is a nice pick.

Plus he busted up Hansbrough pretty good, so hes a-okay in my book.
