Should the Chicago Bulls re-sign Ben Gordon for the 9-11 million he would get elsewhere?

True, but Im about ready to be done with the Tyrus experiment. I don't think his attitude is ever going to change, with him always wanting to be a perimeter player, and I think his IQ will always be a liability. At this point, his value seems so low that I wonder if we could net anything positive if we traded him?

If he's ok, but not worth more than 6 million, then we whiff on a FA worth a damn, you've just lost both Tyrus and the FA.

Renouncing him doesn't necessarily mean you can't resign him. Theoretically, the Bulls could renounce Tyrus, then sign him with free capspace. They just couldn't use an exception to do it anymore.

Yeah, that's true, I didn't think of that.

Cliff Levingston wouldn't be opposed to re-signing Ben for up to $10 mil per year average if we've got a deal in place to dump Hinrich for no contracts that extend past this upcoming season. That's definitely not a forgone conclusion though.
