The Ben Gordon appreciation thread

Post#1 » by anorexorcism » Wed Jul 1, 2009 11:16 pm

Too much to put in one post. I wish him the best. This guy has been so much to this team and they let him go for nothing.

Post away.

Seeing that play live from the 100 level sent chills down my spine.

So sad. He was the best player on our team for every season he was a Bull and we let him go for nothing. No attempt to trade Hinrich to make room for him or nothing. I'll miss his swagger in Chicago.

One of my saddest days as a Bulls fan. I'm pretty down right now..he was so much fun to watch when he was on his game..the clutch shots, the silent assassin mentality, the professionalism will all be missed.

But holy heck he finished his Bulls career with a flourish. Great series against the Celts despite being banged up, capping what was probably the best offensive season by any Bull since Jordan.

I will miss him. He made great shots and took terrible ones as well but he wasnt afriad either way. He won us as many games as he lost us. His D was terrible but his O was amazing. He will be missed but he told us he wanted to retire a bull. That loyalty talk was all BS.

Well I feel like crap.

Despite Detroit being our Central Division competition, I wish him the best. I'm glad he got $11 million. I think he deserved it.

So we ended up with Deng and Hinrich. The two worst ones. Excellent.

Damn, I am not going to be able to see Gordon in a Detroit uniform. I really am not. I still don't see how we didn't use that 26th pick on a SG even when I think the Bulls organization KNEW that Gordon was going to walk.

Ben, thanks for the big games against the Celtics.

You were the most clutch player the Bulls have had since MJ, damnit GarPax - this sucks!

Went to the Arch Rival...need i say more?
To quote GetSeven
With Jimmy at the 2 spot this lineup (along with depth) has the potential to be the best since the Jordan/Pippen days easy.

What I will miss:
I will miss his shooting

What I wont miss:
6'1 sg's (He is not 6'3 for the last time)
dribbling off of foot 2 times a game
shooting 3's from 10 feet behind the line
no defense

Just goes to show how little I understand people. Gordon was a consummate professional, a guy who lived in the weight room and on the practice court, a guy who hit tons and tons of big shots for a team that had hardly any offensive firepower for most of his tenure here, a guy who worked his tail off on the defensive end, and a lot of people are happy about his leaving. For absolutely nothing in return.

That's why we're living here in America, I guess. Good luck, Ben, except when you play Reinsdorf's Scrappers, I guess.
On indefinite hiatus as of May 27, 2014.

Top 10 in Bulls all-time Points, FGM, 3p%. Number 1 in 3PM. Only missed 12 games in his whole career. Came into a organization that won 23 games the previous year, and hadn't made the playoffs since 98, and led them to 47,41, and 49 win seasons. Leading scorer for the past 4 years.

Deadly shooter, scoring machine, and a professional throughout his time here.

I'll miss ya BG

It looks like were going to have to play team ball again guys.

Gone are the days, Gordon gets the ball, Gordon shoots. Now Rose gets to decide who shoots. He is now the undisputed leader of this team.

Rose now has some more weight placed upon him, lets hope he handles it. I believe that he will.
Don't take life to seriously and find your potential. Most importantly, have as much fun as you can while you're still here.
