Carlos Quentin

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Sun May 18, 2008 10:16 pm

He has been the White Sox best bat so far this year.
42-141, .298, 10 homers, 35 RBI's
In 41 games this year he already has more RBI's and home runs than he did in 81 games last year. :o

He's a young guy still too. Looks like the Sox have a nice acquisition here. He has been playing well basically since the Sox started playing him near the beginning of the year. Forget Swisher, Quentin was the best outfield pickup of the off-season.

Ain't that the truth. Swisher is batting a paltry .213, but at least his on-base percentage is .343.

No one doubted that Quentin had the talent to be an impact player, just if he could stay healthy and put it together. Apparently the change of scenery and vote of confidence has done wonders for him... he's carrying the offense right now.

He's hitting the ball like no other. He's just been mashing this season.

Without him, the White Sox would probably be in 3rd or 4th place in the AL Central with the way Konerko and Thome have been hitting.

He's not even on the ballot. At least he should make it as a reserve.

It's sad to say he probably won't make it in as a write in, not enough people know him. He'll probably make it in next year, but its a shame, he shoudl be on.

He could still make it as a reserve or possibly in that Final Vote thing.
White Sox fans voted AJ and Scott Podsednik in via that Final Vote.

Carlos has been Kenny's find of the year. We are lucky the diamondbacks outfield was stacked and they had no room for him. I can't beleive how well he is doing now if only he could infect the rest of the sox hitters.

The thing that has impressed me is his opposite field power. He hit one out to right last night that gave the Sox a 6-3 lead. He doesn't just sit on fastballs and try to jack them to left. Anyone know how long he's signed?
