Buffalo Bisons- (19-8 )- First place, 2.0 games in front of Rochester

Andy Marte played 6 innings in a rehab start and hammered a 2 run HR to give the Bisons the lead.

Adam Miller improved to 4-0 on the young season. He allowed just 3 hits and struck out 7 in 6 innings. He now has a 2.43 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 37 innings on the year.

Edward Mujica was recalled to Cleveland prior to the game
. Rafael Perez was activated to the Bisons roster and will start on Wednesday against the Clippers.

First Baseman Ryan Mulhern leads the Bisons with 6 home runs, 21 RBI and 53 total bases. He also has a .300 batting average but has struck out a team high 23 times in only 90 at bats.

Jason Stanford is pitching well thus far at 3-0 with a 2.64 ERA. Among the relievers Mike Koplove has been near unhittable posting a 0.71 ERA in 12 2/3 inning of work.

Akron Aeros (16-12) First Place, 0.5 games in front of Erie

Jordan Brown(.337), Jon Van Every(.328), Asdrubal Cabrera(.319) and Rodney Choy Foo(.313) have led the way in the early going. Prized OF Trevor Crowe continues to struggle at the plate though batting .181 and striking out 20 times in 105 at bats.

Aaron Laffey is pitching well at 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA. Reid Santos(0.68 ERA) and Mariano Gomez(1.38 ERA) have led the way in the Aeros bullpen. Chuck Lofgren has been off and on at times. He's sitting at 2-2 with a 3.67 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 27 innings.

Kinston Indians (16-11) First place, 2.5 games in front of Salem

Relief pitcher Jeffrey Stevens, acquired in the Brandon Phillips trade, is off to hot start. He's 3-0 with a 0.81 ERA. Also Stevens has 25 strikeouts in 22 innings. I would like to see him get called up to Akron to see how well he does there.

Starting pitch David Huff is 3-1 with a 1.97 ERA. Relievers Michael Finnochi(2.04), Christopher Neilson(1.93), Scott Roehl(1.46), Randy Newsome(1.50) and TJ Burton(2.70) round up a very good Kinston bullpen. None of the bats really stick out at this point.
