Not a question anymore. He just signed a 2-year, $26 million deal with the Tigers.

I personally am glad they got him. Still a good player, good clubhouse presence, and an all-around good guy. He'll fit in nicely.

yeah not a bad deal, especially after reading about what Bourne and Hamilton are looking to get(I cringed every time I heard the Tigers mentioned in the same sentence as Hamilton). he should greatly improve two of our biggest weaknesses, #2 hitter and OF defense.

our lineup is looking pretty scary right now, every guy in it except whoever plays LF has been in at least one All Star game or should have been in one in Jacksons case. if Peralta and Avila return to 2011 form, VMart comes back as his old self and AJax keeps rolling theyre going to dominate.

He's a major defensive upgrade in RF and he hit pretty damn well last season. He's also a genuinely good locker-room guy. He won't hit that well again, but on defense alone this is a very good signing. Hit him 6 or 7 and we are sitting pretty

Major upgrade it RF. consistent player in RF, rather then a group of players. He produced better as a no. 2 hitter then our no.2 hitters did. I like it.

I'm good with it.

Feeling increasingly Yankee-ish, though. Wondering if we won't get priced out of the Anibal Sanchez market.

Too bad TSE isn't still around to s**t all over this signing as being the worst move Dombrowski could have possibly made.

That dude was definitely "internet for one."

TSE wrote:I don't think he hits for high enough average or power to help our outfielder hitting. We have a glut of unspectacular players and investing into him would just compound the problem.

That should about do it. It was a post about Shane Victorino by the way.
