ex-Tigers update" thread"

Post#1 » by kellmellus50 » Wed May 8, 2013 12:50 pm

This is where you can talk about all the former tigers and how there doing. (These quotes are from other posters)

Rob Brantlys hitting .239 with no home runs for Miami so far this season and Jacob Turner is 1-3 with a 6.56 ERA pitching in AAA.

Let's not forget those "can't miss" prospects, Andrew Miller and Cameron Maybin, that the Tigers turned into Miguel Cabrera.

Inge, Raburn, Fien, and all the others I can't think of.

Raburn is doing the best of all but he will fade as the season goes on, and will be on the bench if he ever gets into the playoffs.

I liked Laird too but the tigers only wanted to pay so much for a back up .So Laird left for a larger contract.

I realize we're really talking about guys who've played on the team either last year or very recently, but anyone remember Jason Grilli?

He's currently killing it as the Pirates' closer. He's had a pretty unimpressive career, though, so I really doubt he'll be able to keep it up.

He'll come back to earth a bit, but i think he'll be pretty good for the year. Every once in awhile a player has a great fluke season. Where a nobody all of a sudden becomes pretty, to really, good. Willie Burton (NBA) did it in the 90s. Scott Mitchell (NFL) in 95

Ex-Tiger Jason Grilli picks up league-leading 21st save with Pirates, haunts his former team in Detroit last night

At 36 years old, Grilli worked a perfect 1-2-3 11th inning to pick up his league-leading 21st save in as many chances. And he did it spectacular fashion -- striking out the heart of Detroit's lineup

I can't believe how good Grilli is all the sudden. He was terrible with us

http://www.baseball-reference.com/playe ... ja01.shtml

Check out his numbers with us

4 years, 8-8, 4.31 ERA, 1.38 WHIP. Now he is a lockdown closer? At age 36? Blows my mind

Bondo is back with AAA he could be used for long relief.

Let's hope not. Know what they call a slider that doesn't slide anymore?

A home run.
