I have already stated to you many times I have a proven track record. That is verifiable and demonstrable and again I'm confident that I will make my case and get the job when I'm able to communicate with the decision maker that chooses who that job should go to. But I have a lot more to offer than a proven track record, that's just one reason why I should be considered.

And what is that proven track record?

Yahoo ranked them 1-175, the free agents that is;

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/2012-mlb-u ... nM-;_ylv=3

avoid everyone from 98-175

Tigers need more scrappy players. They need a modern day Placido Polanco. (Placido is in no way, shape, or form that guy).

Hope that they keep Sanchez and trade Porcello.
Look at Torri Hunter as a veteran leader/corner outfielder.
OR
Really **** **** up and sign Melky Cabrera

call up the backup Catcher, unless Laird can be had for cheap.

I've posted that summary in the other thread that you asked the same question. Do your research and get your answer. It was very clear and adequate. If you want more specifics then you have to supply a reason why I should care to share my personal details with you to convince you that I have a proven track record since presently I do not care if you are satisfied or not as I don't respect your opinion based upon the characterizations you have made that I'm delusional amongst other things which make it a moot and irrelevant point to substantiate.

I refer to you as delusional because not only have you failed to substantiate any of your claims, but through that failure you've thus failed to qualify yourself as being worthy of the jobs you believe you're the market leader in. You are therefore summarily dismissed.

Guess we are checking out Upton and Hamilton (!) according to the Freep. I know Mr. I wants a ring, but I have a hard time seeing Hamilton come here, Upton maybe....

Well we have major holes in the outfield and one of the biggest spending teams. The Yankees were hitting $200MM already and several of the big spenders are still above us, and LA is starting to move off the charts on laying out cash, so Detroit is one of the biggest spenders that still has the capacity to make a move like that. We definitely are one of a very small number of teams that could possibly go after Josh. He also has a lot of red flags about him that could drive down the price a little. Somebody is going to give him a big contract and nobody has jumped at the chance to fork over $175MM like he wants, so that seems to me that we are very much in the mix as a possible team that might make a deal with him.

Which Upton as there are a couple, but the FA Upton isn't exciting to me and I'm nervous about trading for the other Upton if we are going to sell off the future again in one of those types of moves.

Just signed Hunter, lets hope he brings some production to the corner outfield spots.

Raburn finally released, only a season too late. Apparently we are interested in Stephen Drew as well

Guess we are kicking the tires on Soriano, I was thinking we would find a closer in house, maybe not.

We are also looking at Stephen Drew, looks like Peralta's days in the old english D may be numbered.

That would be interesting, I've always been a fan of his special brand of madness, and his team mates seem to love him.

But I'm sure he will get a huge salary, and considering I (and the Tigers) would rather have Sanchez, I'm thinking this won't happen. But if Mr. I pulls out all the stops it could happen.

Would you rather have a new SS or Wilson?

Maybe Wilson by a bit.

The Tigers added 3 players (2 major league portion, 1 minor league portion) from the Rule 5 draft.
http://www.blessyouboys.com/2012/12/6/3 ... -5-players
an infielder and a lefty.

They lost 2 guys I've never heard of, which is not really surprising considering that they gained 3 guys I've never heard of.

What do you guys think about trading for Trumbo or Elvis Andrus.

i'd rather be looking at Andrus as defensively we could survive with dirks, and i think SS is a more impact position than the outfield. i'd be happy with both. Porcello + Boesh or Garcia for either

Elvis Andrus would be a phenomenal fit.

Seeing as they wouldn't part with him for Justin Upton, we're probably best served looking elsewhere.

Tigers likely going to spring training set in each position [Dirks/Garcia LF platoon]--may consider less expensive closer based on unsigned/released guys with other teams. Bet Porcello & Boesch get to spring training with Detroit--they and/or Peralta likely will be traded for younger, strong-defense minded shortstop.

I'm thinking Porcello gets traded to Pittsburgh for their closer (Hanaran?). Boesch gets traded for minor leaguers (in what will seem like opposite day for tigers fans). i'm really thinking that Peralta is our SS unless something crazy happens.

I just saw a rumor that Hanrahan was going to Boston, so looking less likely

What about this trade?

To Colorado Rockies--Porcello SP & Boesch OF

To Detroit Tigers--Dexter Fowler OF & Josh Rutledge SS

Colorado gets starting pitcher & lefty outfielder. Detroit gets starting leftfielder & shortstop, better defenders than LF tandem of Dirks/righty hitter and SS Peralta. Also gain team speed especially with Fowler as everyday switch-hitter batting 6th in lineup.

We might be looking at Wilson as our closer. He's one wierd dude, but i think our team needs a injection of wierd.

Return to Detroit Tigers
