I'd definitely take Damon over Raburn, but that's not saying much. If Damon has any pop left in his bat at all, I'd sign him. I'm not fond of him, but the Tigers aren't doing jack this year with Grandy/Edwin gone and Maggz/Guillen/Raburn in our outfield. UGH *bangs head on desk*

Sign him to a 1-year deal, and trade hi by the deadline to a team looking for a lefty bat....teams always need lefty bats at the deadline.

He's only talking about for spring training. I'm sure he'll change some things around a couple times to try and make everything fit.

I'm anxious to see who stands out this year. Last year Porcello and Perry outplayed thier peers and ended up playing in the big leagues all year when everyone expected them in the minors.

I hope Sizemore, Jackson and maybe Ramirez stand out.

The Damon signing has me thinking the lineup will go like this most days:

DH, Damon
CF, Jackson
RF, Ordonez
1b, Cabrera
LF, Guillen
3b, Inge
2b, Sizemore
C, Laird
SS, Everett

Rather have Damon in the OF over guys like Guillen or Mags. His arm isn't what theirs are, but his legs will track down a lot of balls they won't be able to....

Also, need to keep an eye out for Ramirez and Wells for possible OFers that stick this season.

Agreed, I was hoping to see a lot of Ramirez and Wells this year in addition to other prospects we have. Now we have Damon and all that goes out the window. At least a gigantic chunk of it. Now the "other prospects" aren't going to get jack squat for time, and Wells will most likely have a tiny or non-existent role instead of a big opportunity, and Ramirez will get slimmed down massively as well. And all for a guaranteed non-fit player for the future in Damon. Completely illogical and disrespectful roster design by the Tigers.

Or we play Damon/Guillen like crazy, hope they can put up some inflated stats, and trade them both for multiple prospects at the deadline....

All the while, Wells and Ramirez are down at AAA getting their playing time, getting their at-bats, and staying active. After the trade, they get called up to get some big league experience before the season ends.

I think this might be our plan.

Anyone notice Austin Jackson's numbers so far this spring?

Something like a 700 OBP??

Getting on base, stealing bases....how's his defense?

Hey I'm looking for a Tigers GM for my new fantasy league. You would take over the Tigers 25 man roster and their top prospects. There's a salary cap and contracts. It's run through yahoo and it's completely free.

The smartest Tigers fan interested will be given the team.

I'm interested in it.... since it's yahoo.

And anybody interested in buying a 1984 Tigers World Series ring? It's legit.

Apparently the story of the ring is, Douglas Baker got his ring stolen so he got a replacement then later on it was brought back to him so he's selling it. I just came across this earlier today. I wish I wasn't a broke college student paying my way to live and paying my tuition. :'(

I used to get this Auction Catalog and it was crazy the stuff that would be part of it. It seemed like it was mostly Philadelphia/Baltimore area sports. There were Gold Glove awards, heavyweight boxing trophies, and there was even a World Series trophy. The actual Trophy, i'm guessing MLB replaces those over time...but still.

Either way, if I had the money I would still hope that it would be someone better then Doug Baker.

To me that would be like getting Tremaine Fowlkes 2004 ring. Its still cool, but a lot of money to be spending on something like that.

And in all honesty, what would you do with it? And autographed ball, a photo, stuff like that makes sense. A ring, not so much.
