From Baseball America:
Top 10 Prospects: Houston Astros

Houston was Baseball America's Organization of the Year in 2001, when we ranked their minor league talent the third-best in the game. The Astros system hasn't rated higher than 20th since—it currently checks in at No. 22—so owner Drayton McLane has opened his wallet to sustain the winning.

Because Houston hasn't drafted as well and has faced stiffer competition in Venezuela in recent years, the system hasn't been able to feed the big league club as it once did. While the top four home run hitters (Berkman, Morgan Ensberg, Craig Biggio, Jason Lane), leading winner (Oswalt) and closer (Brad Lidge) in 2006 were all homegrown products, precious little new blood has arrived on the scene.

Hunter Pence needs to be moved up if lets say someone like Luke Scott, or Chris Burke don't do what they are expected, he is obviously ready to play, he is 24yrs old, how long do they want him to wait.

They always keep people down in the minors too long. I have no idea what their problem is but it is annoying. If you are a young stud, this organization is like the worst if you want to break in at an early age. I bet they would have kept guys like Griffy Jr. or Andruw Jones down there until they were 25 too, lol.

Oh, danm, I thought we were pretty good from the list I saw above, but hey if it makes you feel any better, Astros are 10 times better than the Texans at doing so, LOL.

Hey, Andre and Domanick and Mario and Demeco and Daniels and Dunta and Spencer and Winston have something to say about that sir.

(Ok, pretty much the rest of our picks have sucked though).

Yeah but the main point was Bush and VY, lets be realistic, I think would have helped out team more than Dominak and Mario.

LOL, yeah well the Astros haven't done that bad in the prospects, but did you guys think Jason Hirsh would of been a good pitcher?

I was a bit pissed they included him in the deal for Jennings, I think he has alot of potential.

But we shall see...

Yeah, I would of thrown in Lidge, and they should have thrown in Francis, I would like that better, but iono if they would be up to do that....just imagine that type of lineup...
Oswalt
Jennings
Francis
Williams
Sampson

Oh and Sampson I think will be a great player, I think he also has potential.

BRING HUNTER PENCE OVER NOW ASTROS!!!!! maybe if our offense doesn't spark up a little, we might be smart enough to do that, and put him in either CF, or RF.

Haven't had much of a chance to see him play but, is he an improvement defensively over Burke? Because Burke is pretty awful in CF.

Pence with another dinger yesterday. His batting average isn't that great right now though. He is only 3 for 19 but 2 of those are homeruns, lol.
