should have capitalized on that situation. looks like DeGrom is settling down with his fastball control lately. better knock him out next inning before he completely settles down.

Turning Point for deGrom?

Post#286 » by Ranma » Fri Oct 16, 2015 1:00 am

I was thinking the same thing. deGrom is getting his feel for pitching as the game wears on but at least his pitch count his high. I actually like Corey Seager's at-bat, not the result. That was a nice changeup deGrom threw him to strike him out. Adrian follows suit with a strikeout of his own. A missed opportunity.

Greinke's pitch count at 48.

16 an inning.
When watching a game, I usually like my pitchers to keep it 15 and below.
But let's be honest…I've been watching Kershaw and Greinke for 3 years (kershaw his whole career)…I've been spoiled into wanting that.

I'd like some quick ground balls next inning. He needs to get deep into this game.

Mattingly must go. he has no leadership and he has no control of this team.

we needed to score in those last 2 innings.

we're heaping way too much pressure on Zack to put up zeroes.

Ethier-Mattingly

Post#294 » by Ranma » Fri Oct 16, 2015 1:19 am

My router went down so I missed it, but I heard TBS speculate that Mattingly was critical of Ethier's approach to that at-bat in not moving the runners over.

that was a result of our coaching staff's failure to alert the players on the field to cover the third. how idiotic.

Blowing It

Post#300 » by Ranma » Fri Oct 16, 2015 1:30 am

Geez...we surrender 3B to baserunner Murphy, which leads to tying the game. Either has a spat with Mattingly and we've blown a lot of opportunities for more runs. This is not looking good.

By the way, if Ethier is taking issue with his manager for asking him to move the runners, then dude needs to chill and do what's best for the team. Even in this game, we're struggling to hit with RISP.
