Not big on Austin starting as it seems like a punishment for Yas who, surprise surprise, didn’t have another passed ball or gaff after Kershaw exited the game.

Hopefully the net effect of this move is lateral to good (because it’s not like Yas is hitting either) but if it’s a punishment...it’s stupid.

Has to be vexing to see random guys nutup in the postseason....Kyle Hendricks in 16. Miley today.

While we struggle to find good October starts as the richest team in baseball.

I don't get walking a hitter.

But he dominated Cain and Yelich like he was the old Kenley. Neither of them had a chance in those specific ABs.
That was good to see.

Random thoughts on our night off.

- I am super annoyed with Jim Jeffress calling Justin Turner lucky for hitting that HR. Bill Ripken on MLB Network promptly showed every clutch hit Turner has put up in October since 2015. It's not like Jeffress has been nails all October either.

- I'm considering the idea of Rich Hill starting tomorrow. I don't think he is better than Buehler but maybe we keep him on their lefties and let Buehler get a lower leverage Game 4 where we are up 2-1.

- We need to consider keeping Alex Wood off the WS roster. He was demoted to the bullpen because his stuff is not there to be a starter. I don't think that automatically makes him a quality bullpen arm and the results have been 2 bombs given up in his appearances.

- Grandal starts Monday. He has a tough task....calling young Walker through his 2nd postseason start. I think Austin did a fine job behind the plate and he did a fantastic job drawing the walk to score Machado in the 7th. I'm not sure I trust Grandal to do that. I definitely sat with the girl I'm dating and whined, "Grandal please dont GIDP" about 10-15 times right before Grandal GIDP following Austin's AB. Incredibly frustrating.

- We're going to have to figure something out with Muncy and Freese. I don't want Counsell thinking he can get out of late game Freese ABs just by starting a lefty.

As much as I like Grandal, the anemic bat in October is killing me.

We need to get some production from the catcher spot in October.

It's one thing to not hit.

But a pop fly would have scored a run there. It's anemic in every sense of the word....not just the 6 for 65. The outs are never productive.

Manny’s slide did not affect the outcome of the play.

It’s insane we had to eat that when his foot was on the bag.

The rule was meant to protect throwers, not nitpick plays like that.
