I say we can potentially see a complete game Kershaw tonight and that, has got better probability at this point than Anibal finishing the 6th inning without giving up more runs.

okay I stand by this statement earlier... again.

Yikes at pulling Kershaw for literally no reason at all then just to do it.

Dumb.

Roberts Going Back to His Bag of Tricks

Post#44 » by Ranma » Sat Oct 6, 2018 4:10 am

I get giving Kenley some work to sharpen his pitching, but I really think Clayton would have benefited much more by having a dominant complete game under his belt this postseason from a mentality standpoint.

Roberts said he would not overly rely on the bullpen like he stupidly did last postseason, but he can't help himself from reflexively pulling the trigger to call upon the bullpen with all things being equal.

Kershaw pitching angry with an edge

Maybe demoting him from the 1 spot was the genius move!!

He easily could have pitched 9 innings

85 pitches thru 8
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Kershaw earned that.

As much as I've taken a dump on him. You let Kershaw **** back on me, you, Friedman etc. etc. and anybody else who took his Game 1 start away from him. Keep the chip on his shoulder. Put another one there. Put a Party Size bag of Doritos there....You take Game 1 from him, he has his best postseason start ever and you limit him????

And as much as I hate catering to Kershaw to help him beat his postseason demons over the team....this wouldn't be that. Keeping him in was the best baseball move.

Anywho.
Enjoying Grandal behind the plate. Calling Kershaw through his breaking ball dominant phase.

Now....It's on Young Walker to complete the sweep.

Nice game... I couldn't look away. Tuned in just in time to see Machado slap his homer stayed for the impeccable performance from Kershaw... Don't get the move to Jansen... Although getting this save may help him a bit I guess... I just am at the point I hate when he's on the mound.

Kenley Up to 96 MPH?

Post#50 » by Ranma » Sat Oct 6, 2018 4:38 am

Is Jansen benefiting from the time off from Roberts's over-usage or is the Fox Sports radar juiced? Going to his 4-seam fastball is another consideration given how he practically uses his cutter exclusively.

Is Walker going to be able to blow people away all night?

Help him find his curve Yas.

Dialing It Up a Notch

Post#55 » by Ranma » Mon Oct 8, 2018 12:36 am

Buehler just dialed it up to 99 mph on that pitch to strike out Suzuki. Wow!

Thank you Yasmani for walking out to the mound to talk to this young man in his first postseason start.

I truly see the Yadier in you for that.

Belly Flop

Post#57 » by Ranma » Mon Oct 8, 2018 12:38 am

Bellinger boots the ball in center field taking his eye off of it, which forces Buehler to load the bases now.

Walker then proceeds to walk the pitcher on 4 straight pitches that aren't close to the plate and force in a run against.

Roberts f-ing with Puig for last game... I'm tired of it... Dude's firey... Fans love him... He's the guy, as much as any other, that got you here... Just shut up and embrace him.

Gift from the Umpire

Post#59 » by Ranma » Mon Oct 8, 2018 12:44 am

Man, the ump helps us out on that high called strike, but it doesn't matter as Walker collapses by giving up a gopher ball to Acuna for the grand slam. The kid is not ready for postseason play.

Maybe we'll never have another great October pitcher.
