Offensive rebounding is already a serious problem for Cleveland early on. It's games like this where we really need Thompson out there playing to establish some dominance down low.

(or something like that)

Garland you can box out as well as you want, but if you don't even go for the rebound its useless lmao

I don't like the Pistons just starting hitting threes in the third to make it a much closer game. Almost none of them were open set shots either

This was the Craig Porter game. Not that he will be this efficient every night, but he confidently took his open looks and always made the right play. Great energy on defense. I wonder if he takes the spot from Jerome once Jerome is healthy.

I don't think that'll happen once Jerome is healthy for contractual reasons unless Jerome struggles.

I'm not sure I follow, it's not like we're paying Jerome much of anything.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I hope CPJ gets a standard contract from the Cavs.

CPJ is on a two-way and so is only eligible to dress for 50 games. He will need to be converted to a full contract to be the full-time backup PG.

I want to see how he's defended, and whether he has a counter, once opposing teams have a scouting report on him. Maybe I'll be shocked and the Cavs will have Niang, Mitchell, Strus, or even Wade setting screens for him to prevent opposing teams from sagging and/or going under screen.

I only watched him in that Knicks game but i was impressed, to say the least.

But I agree with ya, he'll need some more reps first for sure.

Also, is it a bit concerning to hardly be beating some of the worst teams in basketball by slim margins while only playing 8 guys?

It won’t be concerning for some until the Cavs are missing the playin or getting bounced.

This team just isn’t good, it’s obvious. Last year was the peak of this team with JB.

We are not playing very well-- under our past demonstrated capabilities, let alone potential-- and are 6-6. If things start clicking we might be a very good team.

At some point, I really want to see some synergy out of our back court on offense. It doesn't need to be an LBJ/Wade year two jump, but it would be nice if they made it harder for defenses to focus on one or the other when both were on the court.

That's actually a good point, really wanna see those 2 be lethal, maybe not unstoppable but causing headaches for defenses.
