You'll never see this here, but NBA players would rather play with LeBron than the player that came in second (Kobe) by a 2.5 to 1 ratio.

NBA Players want to play with Lebron

Post#24 » by nba_on_nbc » Mon Mar 30, 2009 2:12 pm

In last weeks Sport's Illustrated, a poll based on a survey of 190 NBA players was released. The question being,
"Which opposing NBA player would you most like to have on your team?"

32% wanted to run next to LeBron James,
13% wanted to go to war with Kobe Bryant,
8% wanted to run-and-gun with Steve Nash,
7% wanted to experience the intensity of Kevin Garnett
%7 wanted to fill the lanes for Chris Paul.

Which player would you least like to have on your team?

Stephon Marbury, Celtics G.....22%
Ron Artest, Rockets F.....9%
Stephen Jackson, Warriors F/G.....5%
Kobe Bryant, Lakers G.....5%
Gilbert Arenas, Wizards G.....5%

Kobe's case is interesting. He's in both lists. It looks like he confuses even the NBA players.

Pretty much expected.

Suprised Paul is listed 5th though. Would have thought higher.

Fools. If I had the opportunity to play with any NBA player, I'd pick Duncan.

He's unselfish with the ball, opens up shots for his teammates, and wins. Plus he doesn't seem like an overdemanding person like KG or Kobe. Most players would probably see a little boost to their stats, making them more valuable on the open market.

So yeah, Lebron seems like the obvious choice.

Not too surprising, as he's the best playmaker at his position, a great defender, and overall the best player in the game. If you play beside LeBron you'll always be in the spotlight, you're gonna win a lot of games, AND you're likely to look good. For example:
- Everyone thought Mo Williams was not a winner and was too much of a defensive liability pre-LeBron, with LeBron he's suddenly an all-star and a winner
- Nobody cared about Delonte West before he joined the Cavs, now everyone thinks of him as a clutch shooter and a great perimiter defender
- Varejao has few skills offensively, but is well regarded because he plays with LeBron. Think anybody would care about him at all if he spent his career on the Bucks?
- Ben Wallace had garnered a terrible reputation over the couple years before being traded to the Cavs, now people realize that he's still a solid defender and great rebounder
- Even Daniel Gibson had has time in the limelight with LeBron

Still, would have thought that guys like Tim Duncan and Chris Paul would have fared a little better, these are guys who can certainly make you look way better than you actually are.

Bron's the best player in the world, what do you expect? Kobe being 2nd isn't a shocker either, and he's quite ridiculous as well. I was surprised to see no mentioned for DWade or Dwight Howard.
