Dang, but it looks like Burnes is getting nasty with the hitters right now.

Remember when Lucroy vetoed that trade? Mejia was the centerpiece the Brewers would have gotten in return. Career 1.2 fWAR over seven seasons. Bad player.

Instead thew Brewers sent out Jeffress and Lucroy for Ortiz and Brinson, who turned into Yelich. Jeffress would return a year later and make the All-Star team.

Funny how things turned out.

Again, did MLB change the balls again to juice balls? To me they look like they are jumping off the bats.

I was listening to skeptical podcasters today ("How could he not know about $4.5 million missing?!") and all I could think of is if I were in a foreign country, couldn't speak the language, obviously wasn't familiar with something like exchange rates, and I was reliant on one guy to be honest and help me out with translations...do you know how completely screwed I'd be if this guy decided he was going to take advantage of me?

Ohtani is so rich he could afford to tell the Dodgers they only have to pay him 3% of his contract over the next ten years because he makes so much off the field. I'd be fuc*ed if someone who close to me and was fluent in a language I wasn't wanted to steal some cash on the side.

Only thing that makes me skeptical of that mindset is that multiple sources says he can speak english pretty well.

Rangers are the World Series champs. They're playing the Cubs on a clear, calm 73 degree night. They're having the ring ceremony. And they don't sell out. They draw 5,000 less than Thursday's game. Weird.

In my younger days, I was visiting family in Phoenix and got day-of tickets to the home opener at the box office for the Diamondbacks the year after they had won the World Series. Still have the plastic ring they gave away to fans somewhere in my house.

The plaza outside of the ballpark + Suns arena had a Sugar Ray concert afterwards.

This whole rash of TJ injuries is bringing me back to the sportswriters/former players not understanding the mechanics/analytics of the sport they play/cover. Like when you have Lebron or Aaron Rodgers play GM, you deal with it to an extent because they're so good in their primes - but they really have no clue how to build a team. Or guys wanting to go back to old school strategy like the mid-range 2 or running the ball more.

Right now a lot of sportswriters and former pitchers are asking the sport at large to "teach the pitchers to pitch instead of throw with velocity again."

Some team is going to be cutting edge and employ the guys that throw an entire staff of 92 with only curve/change...they won't have any guys on the shelf with TJ and their team will be rewarded with 65 wins.
