After pitching 20 innings, Cousins gives up his first homer and only his second earn run. Pretty amazing for a rookie pitcher.

And it came from the guy who's 2nd in batting and 2nd in slugging in the NL too. Not bad

Since they were 24-25, the brewers have won 69% of their games. It's astounding to me why they don't get more respect in "power rankings" and such things.

This team certainly is battle tested, love the way they just keep grinding.

I'd still like to not catch the Giants/Dodgers, I want the NL East team, not the WC team, in the first round. Then again there was a lot of anger about the Bucks not avoiding the Heat in the first round and that turned out pretty well.

They should split this start with Ashby (maybe a little Suter) and then the top 3 in the bullpen. Anderson's OPS against the first time thru the order is .689. 2nd time it's .819. He shouldn't go passed 3 innings here.

Stamp the Reds' hope out for good.

I'd be fine with moving on from Anderson after this year. He's fine when he's healthy but he's literally never healthy. It's always something.

If there's a 4th starter in the playoffs, it definitely should be Houser over Anderson. Like cousin Chase, Brett maybe even should be culled from the roster. Don't even know being lefty gives him utility, considering the alternatives.

I'd expect Anderson to be on a significantly shorter leash if he's used in the playoffs. 2-3 innings and piggybacked with Houser or something like that. Or perhaps they give that role to Lauer and keep him off the roster or used for mop-up duty in games we're losing.

As for this series, no Escobar, basically no Adames, and we snagged 2 out of 3. I'll take that any day.

Yupp. The Reds need to make up a lot of ground and they only fell further behind. Still all good

Maybe the bright side of today's result is either they decide not to use him then or he's put on a shorter leash. Because they let him get thru first time in the order and then it started to get dicey. It wasn't even great the 1st time.

Houser's #'s 1st and 2nd time thru orders are basically the same and comparable to Anderson's 1st time thru an order. So might as well not piggyback them and just give Houser 5-6 innings before going to your top 3 pen stalwarts.
