That seems really light. Only 8 games?

Definitely lighter than in the past. Last year there were 14 TV broadcasts.

Windy meme: They haven't announced anything so maybe one more huge move is coming. Ideas may be signing Woodruff and putting him on the 60-day IL.

It's entirely possible that something like the above move going through needed/needs to happen for their roster to clear up.

Maybe it's "negotiations ongoing" and a weird **** but it's more likely Sanchez being a team player and waiting a few days until the roster settles out. Just my speculation, though.

The Sanchez thing seems weird but we literally have no information to go on so it could be anything. Nobody is saying the deal is dead so whatever is going on hopefully they can work it out asap.

Tatis has not ruled out future positional switches, but his range in right could give the Padres some defensive margin for error as they continue to pursue outfield acquisitions. Remaining free agents include Michael A. Taylor and Adam Duvall, both of whom can play center field. Outfielders who have come up in the Padres’ trade discussions include the Boston Red Sox’s Jarren Duran and the Milwaukee Brewers’ Sal Frelick, according to league sources. Both of those players are controllable, relatively young and, thus, likely difficult to acquire.

Yea, I mean, the Padres can discuss him all they want but that doesn't mean they can have him.

Is the current brewers starting pitching prospect depth deep enough to rule out swapping a guy like Sal for another young arm with equal value?

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

It would take quite a bit IMO. He's a plus up the middle of defender with five years of control. I think it would take two of their three best young SPs.

I, personally, would zag instead and attempt to acquire 17 year old shortstop Leodalis De Vries.

I've hammered it home on here enough that I'm not that enamored with Mitchell, though he has a high ceiling, and Wiemer is very boom/bust. So the right play might just be to let things sort out themselves. Frelick is the most likely solid long-term MLB guy. The other two may or may not be.

Of course I'm always listening to the right offer.
