Haha! I can confirm I am not an ABC 12 employee but glad my thought process is shared by at least 1 other person.

Don’t know how we’re ever going to replace the 1-9 record in the last 10 playoff games and the let’s pinch hit Jesse Winker not once but twice manager.

A Wisconsin native going to the Cubs is worse than Favre to the Vikings.

He could have gone virtually anywhere else. Hell, he could have gone to the Chicago White Sox.

But you go to the Cubs and you can **** off forever.

Looking for a new challenge. Trying to get that elusive second playoff win in four years.

Don't care as much that he went to the Cubs, honestly. I'll never expect a guy to turn down more money just because of a regional rivalry.

My only criticism, frankly, is that he didn't give the Brewers a chance to match. But I don't think the Brewers were going to match anyway. So it's hard for me to get bent out of shape about it.

Can we get Wes Edens to buy the Brewers? He's added a few Billion to his net worth over the past few years.

Saw this pointed out elsewhere this morning and thought it was interesting. The guy who has worked with Counsell the closest for the the last several years and has the owner with the deepest pockets in the sport chose not to make a competitive offer to Counsell. If Stearns really thought Counsell was the guy who could put the Mets over the top you have to think they could easily have beat the Cubs offer. Now obviously he thought Counsell was worth pursuing in general, just not to the level the Cubs did

I've heard that Stearns and CC weren't all that close. They got along but Stearns didn't hire him and it sounds like wasn't all that enamored of him. The Mets quickly hired someone else.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Read that yesterday somewhere too where the 2 weren’t like super close or anything. Guessing was business arrangement.

It kind of seems like Stearns is great baseball mind but may lack on the relationship part and/or no idea on the pulse of the locker room. I feel like there have been guys that have said things could have been handled better, Lorenzo Cain comes to mind. I know that Cody Decker trashed the organization at one point on how some things were handled. Obviously the Hader trade was super not well received in the clubhouse and players publicly balked at it. I mean tough decisions have to be made, but there is also a slight personal element too that I think is needed. That is my non insider view haha.

I am really curious so see how the Mets & Cubs compare to each other over the next 5 years or so. That could give us a lot of information on who truly deserves credit for our recent success between Stearns & Counsell

Interesting. Would be an unexpected internal hire, but may check some boxes more than some of the front office suggestions.

Espada is a candidate for both jobs. The oddity here is that, as The Athletic’s Chandler Rome reports, Espada’s contract with the Astros expired on Oct. 31, allowing him to do whatever he’d like. Yet GM Dana Brown still said Tuesday that the Brewers were being denied permission to interview in Milwaukee.
