OT: Jerry Manuel Interview by Francesa on WFAN (4/2)

Post#1 » by HarthorneWingo » Sun Apr 4, 2010 5:34 am

The part that just got me going was at about 7/8 through the interview, Francesa reminds Manuel that the Mets' fan base is about as angry as he's every seen/heard it and that the fans expect the Mets to get off to a quick start. So he sets up Manuel for the big question of the interview:

Francesa: So do you think the Mets will get off to a quick start?

Manuel: Well ... ah, what do you mean by a quick start? :banghead:

I have lost words for my mets. Every year we come into it thinking we should be very good and every year its a disappointment. Its gotten so bad I lost interest. (well in baseball as a whole also) I will watch and hope,.....again.

Really though if we see another year like past,

Until then go mets!

and it's not gonna get any better ... if omar gets canned, ricco gets hired ... ricco was behind getting francouer.

i mean if the mets throw away their stupidity, they can have a real good defensive team if they roll this lineup out

ss - jose reyes
c - josh thole(perfect guy behind reyes)
3b - david wright
cf - carlos beltran
lf - jason bay
1b - ike davis
rf - fernando martinez
2b - ruben tejada

but no of course this won't happen because everything has to be done the stupid way by the mets.
LOL Y U MAD THO?

I used to like Manuel, now not so much.

It doesn't matter what kind of lineup they roll out there, the #2-5 pitching is just not that good. Plus I think the way they are handling Mejia is wrong. He should be groomed as a starter.

If they get off to a bad start, they should seriously consider trying to unload Beltran while they still can for some top prospects. I know that's blasphemy but with his contract and injury its now or never.

I don't have a whole lot of problems with our batters. However, I don't understand what Omar and Jerry see in our starting pitchers that are not named Santana. They should have acquired one before the season started.

Oh well, it's been only 1 game. Let's see how this plays out.
