According to multiple reports, the Mets have broken off partnership talks with David Einhorn and will look elsewhere for minority owners. Lots of different reasons being floated out as to why they broke off talks. A few reports have said Einhorn was looking for a more direct way to become majority owner and the Wilpons did not want that to happen. Nevertheless, they will be looking else and ESPN is reporting that according to sources, the Wilpons are going to be looking for smaller amounts of money like 10 to 15 million dollar investments from family members and friends to help equal the 200 million they need and were supposed to get from Einhorn.
