That's true. But he, TDA and Warthan must've decided that together, dontcha think?

That's true. But Harvey should take most of the blame here.

TDA has to read reports of both sides of the game. Warthan isn't necessarily a scout.

I think Harvey just got greedy.

I don't mind the first pitch as much as just squandering the 3-1 lead. Granted that's not always stupidity but could just be a kind of lack of killer instinct or laxness. Not sure. Something is not savvy about the guy IMHO.

I'm just now scrutinizing him, to be fair. Cespedes also not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Agreed. Giving up that lead was really bad. If he was gassed, then he should've told TC.

From what I heard on the radio he missed his spot. TC was on the Fan I believe and said this. Also stated that Harvey didn't have good control of the fast ball and that's part of why he only used fast ball 30-something % rather than usual 60%, the opposition DID have something to do with it, but both factors were at play.

We have been living on the edge for a while now, Harvey and DeGrom have been getting into trouble and fighting their way out. It just happened to bite Harvey today. The unfortunate thing is that if not for the inside the park HR, he would have only 2 ER and his overall line would look better. Can't do anything but move forward, but I have no real anger at last nights game. End of the day we were EXACTLY where we wanted to be. I feel our magic number is 4. If we can get to 4 runs, we should win the game. Our pitching overall is good enough. Gordon got REAL lucky with that bomb.

Impossible to win games if the starting pitching is doing it like this. That's the one thing I thought the Mets had over KC. Apparently not...

Most of the hitters have been looking like amateurs. I don't see a come back with the KC bullpen due up.

these are kids I need to keep telling my self this. i was not expecting them to be here on this stage. And it is not over yet. KC lost last yr and that did them well I hope for the same arc with the Mets for the next 7 or 8 yrs with this staff and some of the players coming up.

What do you think about the catcher with the pinetar?

I don't think the Mets could ever beat KC with just pitching.

still confident. All it takes is one win to get the momentum on our side. Obviously Friday is a must win but a series doesn't start until a home team losses.

We should've won Game 1. Shame. But, hey, in 1986 we lost the first two games (by 1 and 6 runs, respectively) and came back to win it.

the thing is if they can just get 1 game. They have already seen Chris Young which is an advantage so game 4 we have the advantage with them having a bunch of lefties and they haven't seen Matz yet.

I say f*ck the scouting report. Have Thor throw 99-100 and see if the Royals can hit that. We are being to cute and pitching to there weakness rather then our strength.

Yesterday was such bad loss, I lost all confidence. I mean.... the guy pitched a complete game and gave their pen a nice rest. And we only scored on an umpire error.

Our batters looked scared and like they don't want to be there. Even Murphy is having some bad ABs now. Take him away, and there is no offense.

It's just a bad matchup. KC is too good. Our pitchers can't get strikeouts, which truly does test our mediocre defense.

Agreed. Thor has to be Thor and pitch his game but be smart.

I know this will never happen and it's an unpopular thing to say, but if Uribe is healthy, I'd play him at 3B and sit Wright for a game.
