Goodbye Milledge?

Post#1 » by holdupstop23 » Sun May 13, 2007 7:48 pm

Gomez up and played great today. I guess the only thing Milledge has on Gomez is power...

Should we trade Milledge for some pitching?

The fact is, with Green, Chavez & Ben Johnson and Martinez waiting in the wings - Milledge is tradable.

We have tradable assets - extra guys in the bullpen when Mota/Sanchez return.

I'm not saying I want to trade him - I don't. I like young players, but he is tradable, should a good deal come along.
Didn't expect to be rooting for the Celtics, but that's what happened.

I don't want to lose him, but if a good deal came along for some primo starting pitching, we shouldn't hesistate. We have a team capable of winning the WS already (have since last season, if Duaner hadn't screwed us over). If our starting pitching starts to falter late in the season (I still think it's a tad thin, up front), we'll need to shore it up.

I have a feeling Milledge is gonna be a special player.

The way this guy has been hated on by everyone (probably unjustly), he could really have a chip on his shoulder his whole career and have a legitimate fire inside that no other has ever had for this organization.

That is really something players are lacking these days in all facets of sports.

I don't know what it is, but I feel it within him and I can't deny it.

I seriously hope they keep this kid.

It ALL depends on Pedro. If Pedro can be a good starter again, then Milledge can stay and we'll have a nice problem to have. But if Pedro isn't good anymore, then Milledge might be a big trading chip.
