Tanaka is more impressive every time, he didn't even have his best stuff.

Tanaka has a lot of poise. When they hit those back to back HR's off him, he never got rattled. He just continued to deal. I know it's early and things can change in a hurry, but this looks like money well spent so far.

it does, but one thing I noticed is how he is more of a pitcher and not a thrower.. late in the game some of his fastballs were hitting 95, that is crazy since he is usually around the 92-94 mark early... what you notice is how uncomfortable batters are, and I don't care how much scouting you do, when a guy can throw a splitter two different ways with different speeds that are somewhat close in mph, it makes it tough to hit... he can throw a fastball at 92, come back with a splitter at 88, and then throw another one at 86 going away from the batter that is tough to lay off, it keeps you so off balance..

I hope he and pineda keep up the good work. we need it...

Exactly Tanaka knows how to make adjustments and seems to be a tape junkie, knowing/adjusting as he goes along.

So i guess i was right the first time, Pineda is not a bright guy. Expect a suspension to come down tomorrow.

I do hope Giradi has Red Sux pitchers checked for the rest of the season also, sawx just screwed themselves. They have Bucholz and Lester who are known for using this.

What worries me, who is the real Pineda? Up until this season, I saw him as the next Pavano. I really hope he can be effective especially without Nova, the Starting pitching is very thin.
