Tanaka went from using only 10 pitches to get out of an inning to wasting 30 pitches in the second and surrendering the lead.

Now, one questions...was the right call by Joe G to give Tanaka and Pineda an extra day off? I dunno. Always felt extra rest can screw with a pitcher's sharpness. The thought process is there but Tanaka is missing his spots.

Yanks lose 5-2 as the bats went COLD after the second inning.

Tanaka was rusty, missing his spots and constantly falling behind batters but was able to hold Texas to just 3 runs after 5 innings. By the bottom of the sixth the 4th run crosses the plate and the 7th brings in the 5th run on relief.

Texas trading for Cole Hamels was interesting because I still don't see this team going anywhere. The Rangers beat a rusty Yankee starter who wasn't challenging hitters.

We'll see if Pineda benefited by the rest, we sure know it didn't help Tanaka.

Similar to Tex, Rodriguez...CC makes WAY TOO much money to be reduced to a pen role. Only TWO more seasons of this. Thank you Cashman.

Game knotted up at 5.

Mark Teixiera hits his SECOND Home run of the game (26)...and the Yanks are back out in front. Time to get the bullpen to give 3 innings of shutout relief.

No. Trades. Just from within. Just watch.

Yanks lost because the bullpen buckled. Bad break but every one is mortal.
