Let's hope so. This team needs to keep winning series so that the chemistry it has built can carry over to the post season. I like the resiliency this team has shown so far. If we could make a move for one solid started we'll be set.

They can do this. They've also got a great closer and setup man, Shreve is great in the pen, they don't quit when they're down. I'm enjoying this season a lot more than I expected. I suppose this means that Girardi and Cashman are both geniuses now, right? LOL

Nathan Eolvaldi is arguably the worst 10-2 pitcher in a long long time? But who cares, we won and he pitched great.

I agree, although he just developed a new pitch and may be improving. But things even out sometimes - we've had some great pitchers lose games when our offense sucked. Now, we're driving in around 7 runs a game lately, so mediocre pitchers can still win. And he pitched into the 9th, sparing the bullpen in advance of needing a reliever to start one game to give Tanaka more rest before his next start.

Eovaldi is looking better of late. Since the game against his former Marlins team, he has shown quite a bit of improvement.

Eovaldi is looking better because he is working on his pitches to induce more ground balls. At the start of the season, he was subscribing to the "Nuke LaLoosh" school of falling in love with his stuff. He has some funk to his pitches but..now, he has learned how to pitch in that, he knows how to be economical with his pitchs.

Rod hits a homer on his birthday. He's 40 fricken years old today. He's hit 24 HRs so far this year, and may reach 40. We really do have a chance this year. Haha - Boston was supposed to be unbeatable this year, right?

Yanks lead 6-2 going into the bottom of the 7th. Makes me wonder, this 6 man rotation and deeeep pen Girardi is employing is not so far fetched. Nova lasted 5 innings, Chasen Shreve come in and has been pitching well in limited appearances.

That deal raised my eyebrow as well.

First, let me express how much I HATED Jose Reyes who suffered so many hamstring pulls with the Mets but didn't have any problems dancing in the dug out. In 2011, he sat out the last couple games at the advice of his agent so he could ENSURE winning the Batting title and use that as leverage against the Mets when he hit free agency. He played the fewest games as a batting champ since 2002.

Trading for Tulowitzski is an interesting move. Pretty much the Jays consider his injuries to be less serious than Jose's aches.

I think Tulo wanted to be traded to the Yankees, but their front office decided his injury history made a long term contract too risky. Now, they have serviceable shortstop who may still be improving both his hitting and fielding. It remains to be see if Tulo is the better bargain and plays up to his (healthy) potential, or if he breaks down during the season. I agree that Reyes seemed not to be fully concentrating when he played for the Mets. I'm more of a Yankee fan than a Mets fan, so I didn't go crazy from that. I just watched the Yankees more.

Tanaka's start pulled back, another day. I HOPE he didn't tweak his arm. I did NOT like the Yanks leaving him in for the 8th inning when they had a comfortable lead last time out.

Apparently Joe G. wanted to give both Pineda and Tanaka more time to rest on a loooong 10 game road trip.

By starting Capuano, the Yankees have decided to eat a loss. My only problem with this movie s, "Why not start Warren who is a better starter?" Capuano is DREADFUL. He'll burn out the bullpen.

4-0 Rangers bottom of the first.

I couldn't believe my eyes! They were down 5 and I thought they were through for the night. I checked the score before going to bed early tonight and couldn't believe what I saw. OMFG. Is this offense real? Everybody seems to have participated once or twice. All I can say is, "FIRE CASHMAN!" LOL

Yanks absolutely bludgeoned the gawdaweful Texas Ranger pitching. Sure the 21 runs was impressive but more impressive was Moreno's 5.1 innings of shutout pitching.

Joe G's gamble paid off. He was willing to sacrifice tonight's game to give Tanaka and Pineda extra rest. Right now, the Yanks are 4-1 during a 10 game road trip with their two big guns coming up.

The AL East is theirs to lose.

Agree, and even though Texas hasn't been one of the better teams, the Yankees always played them poorly on the road. They lost some games they should have won in the past few years. Now things seem to be working out - a whole lot of things working out at the same time.
