According to Torre. A popped hamstring.

It sucks that he got injured, but atleast he didn't tear the hamstring. He'll hopefully be back for the stretch run and then we can stretch him out and let him go deep into games.

Also, Phil said he had a similar injury in high school.

Damn. Just when things start to look better this happens. So what happens when Moose comes back? Wang, Pettite, Moose, Igawa and _____. Fill in that blank. It better not be Rasner and I don't think Wright is ready. Is it the Big O or Clippard? -Jitpal

Not that I know of. Can David Cone come out of retirement?

Phil says he's disappointed he's not going to be out there the next 5-10 days

Somehow I doubt that Phil will be back after 3 starts, but it's encouraging nonetheless. I say 6 weeks minimum. The Yankees are going to handle him with kid gloves.

Other than the obvious one, nothing even remotely interesting there. Oh well.

We needed him before this season began but even if he signed today. He wouldn't be ready to pitch for a month and by then Hughes would be pretty much ready. -Jitpal

oh my god. that is the saddest damn news ive ever heard. Phil Hughes on his way to a no hitter and carrying us back to the top of the AL east. It's going to be tough doing it without him guys

Yeah, the word "Curse" almost comes to mind. The Knicks had a bad year, giving up the lotto pick to Chicago and now this. (Maybe the city is cursed  )
He really might have had a no hitter.
When was the last time a 20 year old rookie did that in his second start. Would be for the history books...

Hughes was unbelievable, but I'll still take Clemens and give Hughes time in the minors, or give him Pavano or Igawa's spot

Again, WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING PHIL HUGHES IN THE MINORS

What exactly is the point? I've asked you this twice, and you haven't answered.

HE NO HIT A MAJOR LEAGUE LINEUP FOR 6 AND 1/3 INNINGS... WHAT EXACTLY DOES HE NEED TO GO TO THE MINORS FOR?
