Can't wait to see Rich Harden against AJ Burnett.

That is going to be a great match-up

Sweep of Indians eludes A's

OAKLAND -- It's been a tough-luck season so far for Athletics ace Joe Blanton. The burly righty has made three strong starts in the first week and a half of the season and has absolutely nothing show for it. Unless, of course, you count the loss column, which received an addition Sunday as the A's fell to the Indians, 2-1, losing out on the chance for a three-game sweep at McAfee Coliseum.

Blanton came out firing against the Indians, and all signs indicated he was headed for his first win of the season, but just as the crowd began to bring out the brooms, bad luck hit again.

With the A's clinging to a 1-0 lead in the seventh inning, Blanton, who was brilliant through six innings, hit a rough patch in the road. After retiring the first batter of the inning, Blanton issued back-to-back singles to Andy Marte and Kelly Shoppach and a base on balls to Grady Sizmore.

Indians rally past A's in Lee's return

OAKLAND -- When it took him 12 pitches to retire the A's first batter he faced Sunday afternoon, Cliff Lee wasn't feeling entirely optimistic about his official return to the Tribe rotation.

"Jeez, man," Lee said. "I thought it was going to be a long day."

Or, more accurately, a short one. After all, burning up his pitch count early in games was one of the issues that got Lee demoted to Triple-A Buffalo last season.

It's going to be fun to watch. AJ has started 3 games against Oakland and has a 2.18 ERA.
