I think the better question would be why he was placed as the #1 when your rotation features Cain and Lin?

I read an article yesterday that said that the Giants pitchers lead MLB in strikeouts. That is impressive.

They put him #1 this year so Cain could pitch Opening Day at home. If they opened the season at home, Cain would have been #1 and Lincecum would have been #2.

I wouldn't be suprised if Tim alone led all teams in strikeouts by years end.
