Breaking news! Link to follow shortly!!

YAY!!! :D :D :D

EDIT:
NEW YORK (AP)—Felix Hernandez(notes) has been chosen the AL Cy Young Award winner.

The Seattle ace won by an easy margin in results released Thursday by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

King Felix went just 13-12, but was a victim of poor run support all season. He led the majors with a 2.27 ERA, topped the AL in innings and was second in strikeouts.

The 24-year-old righty from Venezuela drew 21 of the 28 first-place votes. Tampa Bay’s David Price(notes) got four first-place votes after going 19-6 with a 2.72 ERA. CC Sabathia(notes), who led the league with 21 wins for the Yankees, drew the other three first-place votes and finished third.

The 13 wins by Hernandez marked the fewest for a Cy Young starter in a full season.

I'm so damn happy for Felix. This is for sure the brightest spot in an awful season. He deserved it! Hell yeah!

Well deserved. Well **** deserved. I know awards don't define a player but the idea of Sabathia getting it instead of Felix seemed wrong. I am glad the voters agreed.

Thank god. This affirms my faith in the voters. They can look past wins and to pitching stats.

As posted above, Well @#$% deserved.

Didn't think it would happen but I'm glad the voters realized the level he pitched this season. Even an average offense would have given him ateast 5 more wins.

They got it right, IMHO. :D

I hope this award embarrasses the M's brass into getting him some run support now.

Jayson Starck dropped some statistical bombs on SportsCenter this morning when the announcement was made. Worst offense of the DH era/7 of Felix's final 14 starts resulted in Felix pitching through the 7th with ZERO (zilch) in the run-support department. Why, then, should Felix be knocked down when more often then not it's IMPOSSIBLE to win a game, even if Felix is throwin' blanks up on the scoreboard himself?

2009 and 2010 have been outstanding, and he's only 24.
