What do you make of Spring Training to this point? I know ST in and of itself is relatively meaningless, but the power numbers are hard to ignore not just for Smoak but for the entire team. I'd written a very length post on here about pre-season projections [which didn't post b/c RealGM tends to not be Mac friendly for some reason] but the gist of it was that it is not hard to look at this lineup and think it can do well. With the exception of Ryan, every regular [Ackley/Smoak/Morse/Morales/Saunders/Guti/Montero/Seager] could hit at least 20 HR this season without it being much of a surprise.

I feel like the Mariners always do well in Spring Training.

I've gotten to the point where I don't care too much about it, and at this point, I expect most of our offense to be utterly pathetic. It's all we've seen over the past handful of years.

Yeah, I'm pretty negative when it comes to the M's.

It's good to see Smoak hitting the ball well, even if it's only ST. It sure beats the alternative of seeing him struggle at the plate.

Although take ST with a grain of salt, look at Muno last spring hitting over .400 or the Padres leading ST in Homers.

I'm not buying Smoak being a stud until the end of September.

For me the getting excited over the M's in spring training boat has sailed.

With how historically bad this team has been with their bats, I just can't buy in.
