Texas Rangers @ Seattle Mariners

Series is off to a great start with another HR by Guti. There's a bunch of fans in the stands and boy could the M's stand to give them something to cheer about.

Jesus. Morse is like Willie Mays in the OF compared to Raul Ibanez.

Ibanez was one big suckfest tonight. Nearly gets hit in the face by a line drive that misses his glove, and comes up with a feeble strike out with RISP late in the game. God only knows why anyone would even let Ibanez bat in the first place with a lefty coming in out of the pen, but it really paid off. For the Rangers.

Morse's hand is swelled up like a grapefruit and he's getting X-rays after the game. Wouldn't be shocked if he's out for awhile, too.

Yep, broken hand. Goddammit. Wedge says he's out 3-7 days.

Guti's out with a hamstring issue. So our entire projected starting outfield [Morse/Guti/Saunders] is now on the shelf due to injury.

Joe Saunders definitely seems comfortable at SafeCo. He's still slow as heck and not fun to watch, but I'm more than happy to ignore such things if he keeps the team in ball games.

Iwakuma is a boss.

As for tonight; Pretty boring game. Ryan had a really bad error, but I can forgive him because he's usually so damn good.

EDIT: And the Rangers get their leadoff man on in the 8th because, once again, a homeplate umpire misses a blatantly easy strike call. ****.
