houston and texas are going to be good. anaheim looks meh, but obviously they've got some talent and the money to bolster things if they're in a good position in july. oakland, by rule of finishing last in 2015, is due for a bounce back 98 win season -- making this oakland's seventh successful complete rebuild in the time seattle hasn't managed a single successful rebuild.

i don't know, i smell fourth place. weee.

Not going to make a prediction. This team will only let you down, if you enter with any expectations.

felix and montgomery combine on a 1-hitter, mariners lose.

sounds about right.

kaboom! m's take the series with texas w/ a 9-5 win in the rubber match. not often we out-slug texas in arlington, feels nice.

cano w/ 2 more bombs today. not surprising! (given his spring training performance)

three hits apiece for marte and martin.

miley either breezed through his innings or got hit hard. not... really... sure what to make of that start.

Like the look of the team so far. Finally have depth. Solid platoons. No more relying solely on young players to perform. It's refreshing to have mostly consistent vets who give professional at bats. Edit: Spoke too soon.

Well, we finished last in fan loyalty. Dead last. Shocker.

The bottom five with last year’s rankings in parenthesis:

30. Seattle Mariners (#25)
29. Arizona Diamondbacks (#29)
28. Colorado Rockies (#28)
27. San Diego Padres (#24)
26. Houston Astros (#30)

early returns: another year of moderate major league production offensively on the road, and ass backwards numbers at safeco. what a horrible homestand. we needed to pick up wins, too. we see a LOT of the royals, yanks, astros in the weeks to come... blah.

on to 2017.

well, we've bounced back from a 1-5 homestand by starting out a 9-game road trip 4-2 (series wins against the yankees, tribe).

pulled to 7-8 overall.

This team is still going to struggle scoring runs @ home. Very likely they stay around .500 or so.
