Finally a PF... Young and talented with cheap contract.

We will see how he plays with Luka and Kyrie.

Maybe its PJ or maybe its cuz he was in Charlotte, but I like the fact he's a former Kentucky Wildcat since Calipari players usually are successful in the NBA.

In am currently at the hornets arena and they just removed PJ images off the walls backstage. All I could do is tell them thank you and that they have a future star in Brandon Miller.

The arena workers didn't want to go into detail but they don't believe Melo is actually hurt.

Dude has the talent. And the one thing I like about his game is that he is not scared of making plays for himself. Most of Dallas players under Luka era tend to depend on him every single time. Now, they have Kyrie and Washington. The only problem is consistency. Can he be consistent every single game? That's why coaching is important here.

Big fan of this move. If you told me we'd get either of Gafford or PJ before deadline I'd have been happy but both is a home run deadline. Both are lottery picks in a 2019 re-draft and both fit our timeline.

Hopefully a decent run to close out the year and elevate out of the play-in seedings.

NB i did laugh at PJ's draftnet player comparison as Carl Landry though

He needs to improve 3points % but it's funny to have a big who can put the ball on the floor and create his own shoots.
Not a superstar but a solid player, he is in the best situation ever. It's on him now.

I actually think he will help us more if he stays away from the 3pt line. We can get away from if our 3's aren't falling we lose excuse. He a sniper in 2pt range.

Yes but every NBA player should shoot at least 35% the wide open 3s. I think he can improve for sure.

Btw his defense is better than what i expected.

Last summer there was healthy discussion on our Hornets board about resigning PJ, which I supported, as you can see below. His overall skill set and defensive ability were never fully utilized in the disarray in Charlotte. I posted the following last July, and thought y'all Mav fans might like to see it. I think you will be happy with PJ, and think this is a winning trade for the Mavs. Best wishes to your team and you all.

The team was so bad last season PJ’s quiet improvement went a little under the radar. Last season PJ played the most minutes on the roster. Besides averaging 15 pts and 2.5 assists (comp Grant Williams 8ppg 1apg), he averaged 1.88 pts per play while initiating or finishing 124 pnrs and also took 430 3-pters, 6 per game; he defended guards, forwards and centers (one of only 3 nba players to record 800 matchups against guards forwards centers, other two being Scottie Barnes and Robert Williams), had the 5th lowest shooting % against (42% as closest defender) in the NBA, was #22 in “clutch” advanced stats (tied w Trae Young and Domantas Sabonis). I think this versatility in a player his size and age is much needed on this roster and worth locking up at $18M/
