The trade suggestion was actually an attempt to improve our talent level and allow us to have an opportunity to further improve it by using the DUST chip without creating a hole at the center position.

I meant that is the by product of getting a better center here. I am all for Kaman in Dal.

D.Gooden + S.Williams + J.J.Barea + draft right for M.Camby can land us a champ. But we should pray Clippers is not in serious playoff run.

C - E.Dampier / M.Camby
PF - D.Nowitzki / K.Humphries / J.Singleton
SF - S.Marion / T.Thomas / Q.Ross
SG - J.Howard / J.Terry / M.Carroll
PG - J.Kidd / R.Beaubois

That is probably one of the most realistic possibilities.
Not crazy about Roddy as a primary backup PG but we can always pick up an old vet for insurance somewhere down the line if needed. I'd even consider Gooden and Roddy for Camby because that roster would definitely have a chance.

But you are right, that will only be available when the Clippers are sure they are out of the PO race.

I would love that trade. Barea is a great energy role player, but between Terry/Roddy, we can easily have handle not having him as the backup PG and it would eliminate the horrible Terry/Barea backcourts. However, I think the Clippers might get better offers or Dallas will have to offer something else, because they are basically trading Camby for Barea, and I dont know that they value him more than Telfair, who is their current backup. Might need a 3rd team cuz unfortunately that doesnt get it done for LAC IMO.

Dallas trades Howard, Barea, Gooden, and 2nd rounder
Receives Jackson and Kaman

GSW trades Jackson and 2010 #1 (Top 3 protected)
Receives Howard and Dallas 2nd rounder

Clippers trade Kaman
Receive Gooden, Barea and GSW #1

Dallas Lineup:

Kidd/Terry/Roddy
Jackson/Ross/Carroll
Marion/TT
Dirk/Hump/Singleton
Kaman/Damp

This would give us more flexibility in trading Damp at the TDL.
As it stands right now, we would need to get a center back in any Damp trade.

GSW isn't going to give an unprotected when Howard is also a headcase..plus injured..plus apt to escape at season's end..and GSW's current state means a high pick is very possible. The owed 2012 prohibits any protect that defers a pick to 2011. Even were it possible, it's loony to trade both the '10 and '12 when they are trying to build. Howard's future is too uncertain.

GSW wants to dump Jackson but as he is a NBA starter, they will find a deal if they can wait for some team to need a boost.
Thanks to those Republicans, now every week has a 7 day weekend.

Howard has Team option. Protect the pick. I have read that GSW cannot trade a pick until 2016

2012 first round draft pick to New Jersey
Golden State's own 2012 1st round pick to New Jersey (top 7 protected in the 2012 Draft, top 7 protected in 2013, and top 6 protected in the 2014 Draft). However, if New Jersey has not yet received this first round pick by the 2014 draft, then New Jersey shall instead receive: (i) Golden State's own 2014 2nd round pick and (ii) Golden State's own 2016 2nd round pick. [Golden State - New Jersey, 7/22/2008 and amended 9/21/2009]

They should be able to trade the 2010 pick, shouldnt they?
