We also let Reid go off for 27. 7/11 from 3 he was, and nobody closed him down.

You nailed it. This team lives by the three and they die by it too. If two or three players have an off shooting night it’s an automatic loss and it happens way more than I’d like. The Mavs are such a one dimensional team and teams know it. You can double and triple Luka and if the role players beat you it’s something you live with.

I'm wondering when the Mavs brain trust will begin to understand bigs are relevant in the NBA again.
We got clobbered on the boards again.

SG sized PFs and SFs arent going to cut it.

And when are they going to realize Hardaway's play ultimately determines our fate?

An interesting fact from the game.

Luka scored or assisted on 28 out of 39 FG's and ended with 77% AST%. They had a total of 18 FT's and he was 7/7. In total, Luka was directly involved in over 2/3rd of scored points for Mavs. That's wild :o

And if half of those open looks he created for DJJ and Grant went in, he would have ended with 20 assists. Mavs as a unit shot 22% from range.

It was a frustrating game, against DEN Mavs were outplayed by a much better team, against the Pelicans Mavs were drunk, against the Raptors they were soft, this game they executed good game plan for 3.5 quarters, took advantage of single coverage on Luka, when they finally blitzed him they moved the ball and found the right shot, DJJ did amazing job on ANT, Grant on KAT wasn't a good matchup but there were no other options and Reid was left open too many, though he hit some deep 3s, but they couldn't hit a shot to save their life, Kidd stuck with THJ despite horrendous night, Grant Williams had no replacement, but THJ had, you could go with Hardy, or AJ Lawson, you can't keep a player with +/- of -30.
