You can blame a few things on maxi but he is not the (only) reason they are losing.
Luka took way too many stupid threes in the beginning of the game.
Djj, maxi, gav, liv, exum combined for 10 points.
Hardaway played too long till kid realized to bring green

Kidd is a Genius... He guarded Harden with Kleber and Doncic. Great move.

They both defended him pretty well individually, not sure what game you were watching.
We had breakdown over breakdown over breakdown and they kept getting wide open shot after wide open shot...
Also didn't help that they basically couldn't miss in H1

Seriously it only got better when he tried Green. Finally someone playing the passing lanes and being a bit aggressive defensively.

Go back and practice free throws. 6 players had 1 out 2 attempts

Game high was Green +11 and it's the representation of how useful the +/- is with a small sample size.

Ugly game.

Even the "comeback" did not feel like the Mavs played cohesively and with a pattern that matched the good run during the regular season.

Let's hope for a better start in game 2!

Surely, this is going to be a long series. The Mavs will have their moments.

A game where Harden didn't miss a shot because Kleber and Doncic can't guard him but our coach is slow as Ralph Winchester.

And even PJ at the start of the game was awful against him. Another great Kidd move.
