What 6'3 or smaller player that scores overs 24 ppg or more is known for defense in the league? Scoring and playmaking is why guards get the big bucks. What we're looking for is good habits and to give effort on that side of the ball. All in all, I think Kyrie's defense is adequate most of the time. There's no 6'3 or under player that look at Kyrie likes he's going to get his career high. Most guys are more worried about trying to contain him some what.

Mavs were 20 points better, yet game ia tied, Luka and Kyrie froze offensively and Kidd didn't bother call a TO.
I hope Maxi is fine, it looked ugly.

Luka Kyrie both shooting terrible.
Luka is like 5/15. Luka couldnt make any of those 3pt shots which were not contested heavily. Kyrie is like 1/6 he couldnt make any fg other than a fastbreak.

Harden went after Gafford in 2 plays to get steal. Harden just smells blood as a veteran. Gafford should understand this is not regular season. Take care of the ball, try to make sure you get the pass,

Seriously though, the shots taken by Luka was even better than his regular season shot selection. He needs to make one or two to get defense closer to him.
Kyrie needs to get into the game at some point. 2pts in a half. There is nothing a coach can say to Kyrie right now tactically. He just needs to feel it. Momentum is needed for Mavs.

Biggest problem thus far:

1. Jason Kidd has to keep them focus. Better coaching is needed. We need spacing and pace. He needs to get the team focused.
2. Luka has to pace himself and stop settling. He has to lead. Stop the turnovers and stay away from the 3. Get into offense early and down hill.
3. The refs are trying to make this a game 7 - at some point we have to realize this and seize the moment.
4. Kyrie was focusing a great deal on defense but he needs to get going in the 2nd half.
5. We need to get to the basket and attack on defense..you let a team stick around and you will regret it.

Ultimately, this is a close out game. This comes down to Luka and Jason Kidd. Fans say Luka is the guy - well - he needs to deliver. The shots have been there at the basket and he's just missing. He has to be more efficient and stop settling for the 3. If your a guy that wants to be respect as the top guy in the league - you got to deliver in games like this.

Luka taking 7 3pters… Such a frustrating player to root for. I’m pissed.
